Does it work well with candy thst isn't round?

I'd recommend searching for a "candy dispenser" if you're looking to dispense a variety of candy types. Technically this one is made specifically for gumballs. It may work for other small items that fit the hole (gumball size listed is 0.62" or smaller in diameter if that helps); however, it'll likely require shaking the machine to get the candy to fall the internal dispensing mechanism properly. Since the globe is glass, not acrylic, shaking could result in an "oops" fall and a broken globe. If you order this, look at the internals before you put it together to see if your preferred candy will be able to go through the internal holes. Also, to update another customer's answer, there are directions included for how to adjust the internal machine dispenser so that it can be used with coins or "free" by twisting. As a helpful note, it holds a LOT of gumballs so if it's not getting heavy use, then you may want to fill it 1/4 - 1/2 full at a time to keep things from going stale.

Is key always attached to it? Just thinking so access to candy is only for owner. Thinking of using it as comercial use to put at my work place.

There is no key in the traditional sense. In the top red center you have a choice of using "The Candery" logo piece which is an easy twist top to refill and take apart the machine, or use the traditional screw which includes a screwdriver. If you use it for your workplace, please be aware that it looks like it's intended for indoor use, the globe is glass, and using the stand may require a location where it can't be knocked over easily. This is a beautiful accent piece with (or without) the stand, especially compared to some candy dispensers, food dispensers, or acrylic options.

Super sturdy and solid. Coins / coin less. Worth the $

This is such a fun gum-ball machine. My kids had a smaller one, but we decided to upgrade to this for my 7 yr olds birthday party.The large capacity is awesome, it. fits quite a few so I don’t have to keep refilling it; now maybe once a month.It’s stands tall and very sturdy. Has a durable construction and designed to hold up to kids; especially growing boys.it was very easy to assemble; took about 10 minutes~ and came nicely boxed; suitable for gifting.Accepts any size coin or coin-less if you’d like; which is pretty cool. The knob cranks smoothly and makes that satisfying clicking sound; very nostalgic.Well worth the price. Love this Gum-ball machine!

Fun. Fun. Fun.

Good quality. Tall enough for kids and adults. We set it for free dispensing and filled it with M&M's. A preschool graduation gift for 4 year old grandtwins who loved this so much, parents moved it to a secure location because they kept getting a treat. Grandparents laughed. Parents not so much. But seriously, everyone is enjoying it and the M&M's work really well. It took 2+ party size bags to fill. Good purchase.

Great present

Got this for my grandson and my whole family loves it. Beautiful design. Also can double as a coin bank. We thought it only took quarters but any coin that fits works we've used penny dime and quarter. Easy assembly pretty sturdy.

Very cool and durable

The appearance is that of which you'd see at a restaurant lobby and so far it's held up to 4 kids great! There is a small metal piece you take out to change it from coin operation to "free". We did not take that out at the beginning and we had to empty the whole thing. It was our fault, but just a heads up to do it during assembly. My kids think it's so cool though!

I purchased it as a Christmas gift, it came with a bag of gummies. Still using it, I would say my kids actively using it on a daily basis. It made of mix of plastic and metal and looks and feels sturdy.

Middle support does not fit into base.

The base hole is not ridged like it was supposed to be, therefore the middle stand couldn’t not be properly secured. Even if it were ridged, the base hole is way too small for the middle stand insert. The machine itself functions fine however it cannot be made into a stand. Very disappointing for the price.
