The Holy Bible Paperback – April 22, 2017

this is a great set to listen to in your car while driving. it puts you in a positive mood and makes driving more pleasant. i like to listen to the same cd as i am reading. ex. i am presently study the book of acts, it might take me a week to get through so i will listen to the book of acts on cd the whole week. next week will be romans,etc. i also have the bible on dvd that i watch 1x a week. this is a great way to study the bible. 1) you read the bible 2)you hear the bible 3) you see and hear the bible. by doing this you might read hear and see the bible chapter many times during the week. you will definately retain more.the products i am presently working through and you can get all right here on amazon are1) the new defenders study bible (extensive notes on key verses from a creationalist point of view) this alone will open your eyes and mind. get this first.2) the holy bible king james version complete.the bible on cd with james earl jones(he reads the new testament) and jon sherberg (he reads the old testament) i find it great to have 2 different voices to listen to. get this second.3) the holy bible complete king james version old and new testament on dvd. this is an awesome dvd set. with the whole bible right on your tv. great for people who have troubling reading and the whole bible takes only 70 hours to watch on tv. get this third.4) the go bible. i do not presently have this but am going to get it. it is a mp player with just the whole bible on it. you can listen to it while you are walking. ( i walk 1/2 hour a day and this is a great time to study the word as you see GODS beauty all around. while you are driving or at home with the extra speakers and car adaptor.06-14-2008, just got the go bible. i also bought the car adapter and extra speakers. but i just use it for when i do my daily walk. it is awesome for that. but i would get the cds for the car. also sign up for netflix or blockbluster and rent dvds that tie in with the books of the bible you are reading and studying. example. i am reading matthew mark luke and john. i have rented a couple of dvds about jesus. doing this with the some or all of the above. it really is an awesome experience.5) check out tomorrows world on the internet, every thing is free. take the bible study course either online or they will mail it to you. they have about 26 different booklets about the subects we all want to ask. they also have their 1/2 hour tv show on their website. you can read past magazine issues and all of their booklets right on their website. in the last 8 months i have learnt more from tomorrows world than any other source. because they teach right out of the bible. their saying is DONT TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT, READ YOUR BIBLE CHECK UP ON US. i dont know of any other organization that says that.in the end you must read and study the bible. this is GODS inspired word.i hope this helps, if you do the above you will be light years ahead of truly understading the bible. and you will feel GOD with you every step of the way. peace be with you and GOD bless......................

What can you say bad about a bible, other than the fact that some parts have been changed for personal gain. It’s still a great book.Received it on time in good condition.

First of all, this set comes with its own CD case which is VERY nice! ^_^I bought this for James Earl Jone's exceptional vocal talent & was disappointed that he only read the New Testament... until I listened to it.THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY WORTH BUYING FOR JON SHERBURG- who until now I have never heard of. I find it truly ironic.I would think that the voice of Darth Vader & Mufasa - world class actor James Earl Jones would have an excellent reading voice. It appears to me that he didn't try or didn't care enough read eloquently because of his status. His reading is almost glib. His cadence is terrible. His enunciation is dry & he breaths very loudly. Anyone on his level should know how to mask their breath.I work with editing Bible lessons & I record scripture readings form time to time. IT IS NOT EASY. The old English of the King James version can be tough to get through smoothly. It takes patience & effort. It's a task not to be taken lightly. It's the everlasting word of God. It contains the mysteries of eternal truth, so it doesn't read like a movie script & was never meant to. I pay a lot of attention to tone & inflection, etc... As much as I was disappointed by James Earl's inexcusably bad reading, I was amazed & impressed by Jon Sherberg's reading of the Old Testament.Jon's pronunciation is PERFECT. I have never known anyone to demonstrate traditionally accurate pronunciation of names & places. That alone is a lot of language work. He actually makes lineage lines fun to hear!! Jon changes the pitch of his voice to add emphasis. He can shift it from being high & thin to deep & textured! He reads with a consistent voice but his delivery is very dramatic & intense. His cadence & tone are outstanding. He reads just a little faster than I prefer, but if I had to record the entire Old Testament I would probably read faster too - if I could do it without affecting the quality of my delivery! He brought TALENT!James Earl has talent for sure, but he didn't bring it.BUY THIS unless you can get Sherburg's Old Testament separately.If you're looking for a clean smooth engaging experience with the word you won't be disappointed.-_-

First, the people at Omega Books were very kind and helpful with my question, and my order arrived quickly.Version note: The Gideons do not print on the cover nor the spine what the Bible version is, at least the ones I've encountered. I have seen two Gideons Bibles with identical covers, one being the King James Version and the other being the New King James Version. If you look near the beginning before the index page, the version name will be typed with the copyright date. The KJV has 1291 pages, and the NKJV has 1217 pages. Sellers would do well to place small, easy-to-remove labels on the Gideons Bibles in their stock denoting them as KJV or NKJV.There are serious differences between KJV Bibles and the NKJV. I suggest typing "NKJV exposed" in the YouTube search bar, and investigating for yourself.The cover is beautiful. The text is a nice size; it is entirely boldface, which, depending on the individual, might either make it harsh on the eyes or easier to read.The index (which should be called the table of contents, and is near the front) is alphabetical. While well-intentioned, I think this makes it harder for people to learn the chronology of books in the Bible.I implore everyone to take one minute to read the following brief tract which discusses a few key Bible verses about the only way you can get to Heaven, by receiving Jesus as Savior: [...]

This is a very nice Bible. Good size, nice colour, not paragraphed (a personal preference), easy to read print, words of Christ in red - everything you really need in a Bible.....oh and it's a King James version which is a must for anyone wanting the whole Bible. Oh and it also has a nice cover - pleasantly tactile.*** I don't know what's gone wrong with Amazon recently, but this review is not for this book. I don't have this book and in fact I only came to the reviews of this book because I wanted a copy and I wanted to see if other people were having the same problems I am having with trying to download the kindle version - it downloads a completely different book. Amazon seems to be going downhill rapidly. The reviews were why I often buy from Amazon, but it seems that the reviews are not at all relevant any more.

beautiful bible, great illustrations fantastic buy, very happy with bible plus price. worth every penny really happy came in box too.

Although I love the Bible the print was not as large as indicated. I definitely had to wear my glasses to read the print.

Very pleased with it and the illustrations are so good and clear and the print bigger than in my orignal bible
