Great addition to camera & geo-location to photos
The GPS unit clips in the hotshoe of the camera and connects to a side port with a short cable. I prefer using the strap clip as the GPS unit interferes with the pop-up flash. The clip needs to be secured to the strap else it will slide off (a well-placed zip-tie will do the trick). The GPS seems to be accurate in my testing and, once locked, provides quick GPS and time data to the camera to encode in the metadata of each photo. There is an on-off switch to conserve power that also allows you to disable the GPS tagging. Beware the cable - it can be fragile - and disconnect it from the camera when you stow the camera. A replacement cable is available at about half the price of a new GPS unit (and is included with the new GPS unit). If you need a remote shutter release, it is included. Because the GPS unit draws power from the camera, battery life of the camera is impacted but it does not seem to be significant. However, note that the GPS unit will discharge the battery if left connected and on overnight. Would buy a replacement if this one failed.

GPS for Nikon
Works on Nikon Z cameras, including the Z8 and Z9 as well as the listed compatible cameras.

GPS works but cable is junk
The GPS functions properly with my Nikon D750 camera. However, the GPS is useless without the cable. The cable connectors are fragile and can easily get damaged if the user isn't extremely careful when maneuvering the camera with the cable attached. Additionally, replacing the cable is not a straightforward due to the unavailability. Therefore, I consider the cable design to be poor, which explains my three-star rating.

Newest Micnova GPS-N PLUS DSLR GPS: Very Nice Quality, Great Price..Works as Advertised!
Newest Micnova GPS-N: Nice quality, great price, works as advertised and is a snug fit on my D500 hot shoe. I was not interested in calibrating the GPS or determining the yardage error rate--as long as I knew the general location, I was satisfied and this fills my needs. Regarding comments about GPS lag times or lag times locating a satellite...this unit located the satellite and my location in less than 45 seconds. My golf GPS takes 5-8 minutes to locate a satellite and course location. I agree with the comments about the cable length--another few inches would be fine. I ordered a generic cable adapter, but it wouldn't fit. Bottom line: For the price, quality, and function, the Newest Micnova GPS-N is a great deal!By the way, the D500 is not mentioned as compatible, but it works just fine!

Quality
New review. It worked fine for a few weeks until the connecting end for the camera fell apart. Unfortunately the return window closed on 1/31/1025. I would return it for a replacement or refund if it was possible. Very disappointing as I had this for just two months before the problem.I did like the on/off switch as that is not available on the more expensive Solmeta GPS receiver.

Extremely disappointing cable quality
The photo is of my second copy of this product, after learning with the first one that I had to be very careful. I contacted the company who got my shipping information and promised to send a replacement cable. I have not received.I bumped the review up to 2 stars because, when you have a cable, it works well.

If it quits working do this
I like: the price and the accuracy when it is working. Tested on 3 Nikon cameras. If the green light on the device is blinking it is not working. If the "GPS" on the Nikon display is blinking, it is not working. Mine quits at random times.Maybe it lost sync with satellites, but I was always in the open. When you see that it has stopped working, try these things: 1) power it off and back on and give it time to connect to satellites; 2) power the camera off and on; 3) wiggle the connecting cable; 4) switch the Nikon to auto if you were using "P". Once it reconnects to satellites go back to the desired camera settings. Tested with D90, D5100, D7200. Not usable with D80 as the "remote" plug is too small.

Super fast set up and works fine on a Nikon D7200
The reason for getting this was for travel and google maps. Google maps prefers cell phone pictures because of GPS and the ability to ensure the picture that was provided was taken at the right location. When I try to use pictures from my big camera for google maps, google won't accept them unless they are GPS tagged. This worked great. Took about 5 minutes to setup, 1 youtube video to make sure I was doing it right, then out to the yard to test it out. It worked perfectly with minimal issues. I have mine zip tied to my camera strap rather than using the shoe. It did take about 2 minutes to synch with the statties but otherwise, good buy, I'm happy with this product.
