Does the mesh keeps them from jumping out?

You can cinch the mesh ( not too tightly! You don’t want to choke them! ) but it also has a small lead attached to inside that you clip to the dogs collar.

Will this model work for our 25 lb cocker.? She can’t walk steps to our guest house. We need to carry her up and down. We are seniors and want safety.

Our Pug is about 21 lbs and it worked very well for us when he would get tired. We go to Colorado every year, and he had some health issues last summer, so we bought it in case he got too tired when we were hiking. I think they would fit - it's pretty large. However, it has a soft bottom, so nothing firm for them to stand/sit on - so they might do some bumping into each other. They might not be able to see over the top as well as it's fairly deep.

What is the weight limit?

I put my 16 pound chiwiener in it. She had tons of room but it was very uncomfortable for her because there is no support in the bottom. Plus im short and it is long so she hit my leg everytime i tried to walk. Hope this helps
