This is a very Euro-Centric resource, but it helps me know where to go to find more detail. I use this with new Social Studies teachers to do inter-disciplinary studies -- wish it had more contributions from continents other than Europe

This was written as a labor of love for history and is superduper educational . I bought this 4th edition to replace my 3rd edition.

Wiki and other Internet sources offer easy access to information. Real history books by scholars are best for perspective and context. But the timeline in this book gives easy to read columns showing the politics, technology, art, literature etc of different cultures within a specific time period. Very handy!

Start by looking up the year you were born, your parents, grandparents. This book was not only in great shape for used but has given us much pleasure.

The book was great but the recipient wasn't told who sent it. He's in Australia and Im in Britain. Bad show, chaps.

great reference and educational piece of history
