I used these to hold water bottle sleeves and a camp axe and camp saw on my 30 gallon Bear Barrels. They held strong during the entire Boundary Waters trip (8 days) with no slipping, even during rough portages and kayaking. Plenty long enough with extra for my needs. Thanks from Chicago

Don't put your tongue on it.
These smell like something odd. I used to work in a shop that used kerosene to wash parts and it reminded me of that. No idea why the straps would be soaked in kerosene though.
