I purchased this remote to (hopefully) work with my Sony FDR-AX100 camcorder. I was afraid that some of the functions would not work. However, every function works perfectly. I am so happy to have found this remote. It allows me to turn the camcorder on and off remotely, as well as the other functions like zooming and start/stop recording.

I can make Lego stop motions easier now.

I got this for my Sony a6000 and a6400. I use the 6000 for photography only and the remote works flawlessly. For both cameras the remote powers them both on/off. On the 6000 the zoom feature works very well, but here is the flaw.I use my 6400 for video only. The remote works, but the zoom function fails. While it does zoom in and out, it is so slow that you'd be better off doing it manually. Hence why the 1-star minus overall and 3-star for features.

I've only tested this once on both of the above cameras and it worked great. The clothespin type clamp has more loose movement when it rotates than the original but I can live with it.

Worked great at first. I used this a month after buying for shooting on 3 or 4 days, and then again three weeks later on two days before it stopped functioning. It worked great at first, but now the power button works, but the shutter and record buttons do not work. The cable likely has a short since it partially works. I contacted the seller and received no response. I definitely would not recommend since it doesn't seem to last.

This was the perfect remote to operate my Sony camcorder. I record my hunts and needed a control thast was silent and would turn my camera on/off without spooking the game without alerting then=m thrtough movement. I woul;d highly recommend this remote especially if you need a convenient way to operate your camera discreetly.

I bought this cable shutter release after buying a bluetooth version. The bluetooth connected without a hitch but I could never get it to click the shutter! So without additional frustrations of trying to get it to work, I returned it and bought this old-fashion cable unit instead similar to the one I had 30 years ago. It worked right out of the box. Sometimes, the old ways are less complicated and easy on my photography.

Over priced for sure... not even a high quality build - but for what it does it works well. You are paying for the exclusive service designed for a specific purpose for which a third party company can easily replicate and maybe oneday another cheap China company will copy and sell for less than fifteen dollars....
