Highly Sensitive People in an Insensitive World

Great read
I borrowed this so many times from the library I ended up purchasing it. I was going through a divorce and had been told many times over the course of my marriage that I was "too sensitive". This book completely changed my perspective. I used to look at being sensitive as a bad thing and fought constantly to become "less sensitive" however, this book made so much sense of the things I didn't understand. I am now much more comfortable in my own skin and am I'm grateful for this book.

Highly Recommend
I just discovered the concept of the HSP and find it totally fits me. Since it fits and is a new concept for me, I've been reading everything I could find on the subject. I was delighted to find this book and have found it far and away the best on the subject for me. It is not highly technical nor full of the author's personal experiences, just very very readable. I have been busy underlining much in the book for future reference. I definitely recommend this book if you have an interest in or a family member who might benefit from reading it. It is not long but covers a lot.

A good book to discover oneself
I had a lot of self realizations thru this book. Thank you to RM of BTS for recommending this. Great read!

Concise and informative
Found this an excellent companion resource to Quiet by Susan Cain. The "test" is useful and the entire book offers practical ideas for daily life.

Worth its weight in gold!
I loved this book! So very insightful and helpful to me. I think it has enough wisdom for ten good counseling sessions...that would be a nice chunk of change.

A good start but missing something - not as scientific as I had hoped
I feel like I fit the definition of an HSP and I was hoping this book would be helpful. Studies are mentioned but the details are vague. The HSP 'test' seemed too short. I had a perfect score on that test but the follow up content of the book was not convincing. I'm leery of broad categorizations - which this definitely is. It's an interesting concept but lacks depth and detail.
