Work as intended and don't slip down
My husband uses these when he's working on cars. This is the 3rd kind we've tried and his favorite so far. His arms tear and bruise easily and they stop that entirely. They protect him from both burns and scrapes. He says they stay up and don't snag and are comfortable. They aren't unreasonably hot. I haven't tried washing them yet.

Works on your calves as well ladies!
These work great however, run big for small women. I purchased these for my sister who is very skinny. Women’s skin gets thinner as we age and our skin cuts and bruises much more easily. They were way too big for her arms. She actually wears one of the pairs on her lower legs for gardening and yard work. She slides her foot through them and her heel goes where the thumb hole is, then she tightens the Velcro strap around her calf. Since the package comes with 2 pairs, I also bought her a package from another brand that has several arm protectors that look like a sock with two open ends. She puts one of the socks on her forearm then puts on the other sleeve with the thumb hole and Velcro strap over it. That way she has double protection and the bigger sleeve fits better. She loves them!

These are a life saver for me
I am 72 years old but I still take care of our property. I have proverbial thin skin. I cut and bruise easily. Clearing brush and trimming trees is the worst. These sleeves are a life saver. Wish I'd got them years ago. They are well made and should hold up just fine

Great at protecting your arms
These are working great! I was looking for something that had UV blocking when I saw these and noticed they protected from scratches. And they do! I do a lot of pruning and weeding and there are a few places on my property where my arms usually get scratched up. These actually protect my arms so I don't look like I just grabbed an angry cat. They don't make my arms feel as hot as I thought they would. I'm using them in Tucson and it's been over 100 here and they're fine. They seem pretty durable as the thorns and branches haven't bothered them at all. Very comfortable too.

Just the protection needed
I have two very prickly plants that make it challenging to maintain without constant scratches.I am glad I did my research before buying as I nicked off from my first 2 options based on reviews.Three reasons I picked these:1. adjustable strap to keep the sleeves up (brilliant!);2. thumb holes; and3. material that would not easily tear or catch. The straps do their job. I think going with straps offers more flexibility for sizing vs a silicone/rubber trim, which may aggravate the skin with all the motion from gardening. (The skin of my arm insides is a tender area.)The straps and thumb holes mean I can tackle gardening tasks without constantly adjusting the sleeves. The material is quite thick. I took my favorite utility knife to the sleeves to see how easily they'd catch or tear. I purposefully dragged the edge & tip, and the sleeves held up extremely well. The last swipe I really dug and dragged the tip - and got the tiniest snag. Very happy with the result as my arm was protected whole time.I then tested them on a plant. Dragon fruit thorns grow in one direction so they didn't always catch, but when they did, my arms were completely protected.I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to repotting my dragon fruit, a task I have been putting off.Bonus: at 19", I have full coverage for my arms.

Good product!
They are easy to get on, comfortable and good protection when I am string trimming and using the chain saw. It helps to keep the top of the string trimmer off of my arm. (It gets very hot)
