being of a certain age, I did my apprenticeship with a WHS trowel[ work hard or starve].loved them but handles was short and thick, making the wrist ache.Marshalltown pattern 34 emulates the WHS but with the advantage of being lighter, and handle is slimmer and longer.it has a nice lift on the tang, so no scraping knuckles.DO NOT try to cut bricks with it, edge will flake.a exellent trowel that you will love .posted by a professional bricklayer
