Perfect for home made router table and cheaper than buying a ready built one so a no brainer really

My third set of these to use as an under-desk extension drawer. Unfortunately, the ball race on one of the blocks broke and spilled its bearings all over the place after first use, but luckily retained enough to still be usable.

I liked these. Had an old shop built router sledge for flattening timber, it worked but it had wooden rails. I purchased these guide rails to upgrade. It certainly reduces friction. I toyed with the idea of two pairs of rails at right angles, but one pair works fine.

Good quality and value for the money

If you're planning on building a high accuracy CNC system then I'd look elsewhere. The first set I got (1000mm SBR20) had one rail that was twisted by about 2mm and wouldn't lie flat. I set up a return but also ordered a replacement straight away as I need to start a project and couldn't wait for the refund. The second set arrived and while not as bad as the first, I'd only class them as "OK". There's a small visible gap when one rail is put on a flat surface, but for my purposes of making a router "wood flattener" type of jig they should be alright. I assume high end CNC rails are probably 20x the cost of these though, so it's not really that surprising. The slides seem to come with no grease in, maybe just some of that sticky anti rust treatment, so if you put them straight on they are gritty and won't be smooth at all. I cleaned one with brake cleaner and put some light mineral oil in it and it was very smooth afterwards.

Great for use for a router sled.

I bought 1500mm rails with 4 runners for the purpose of building a medium duty router sled capable of handling timber slabs of up to 1200 mm width. The rails are very sturdy and although I haven’t tried it out yet, I’m confident that they can carry the required span without deflection. My only criticism is that the bearings (within the runners) are a little bit coarse so the ‘action’ is expected to be a little bit juddery. The process of router planing using a sled is a little bit crude so I don’t expect to achieve a perfectly smooth result directly from this part of the finishing process. All in all, great value for money and more than adequate for my purposes!
