I've had this for about 2 years now, and it's has NOT rusted. It's cast iron, which doesn't rust. I use it primarily for scooping & spreading salt flakes to melt the ice off of the walkway & driveway during the severe winters in my town. Very handy and easy to use.

Is this dishwasher safe? Some of the other scoops are not.

Put mine through top rack of dishwasher before using it. It came out black & purple. Oxidation? Not sure but I don't want to scoop ice with it now.

what is the dimension of the scoop?

Not counting the handle, the scoop alone is 8 and 5/8 inches in length, 4 and 6/8 inches wide, and it's deepest point is 3 inches.The handle alone is 3 inches. The scoop itself is just about the size of a slim-line land line phone. (If you have one to compare)When I ordered it, I thought it might be too big for what I wanted it for, (scooping and distributing rock salt on pavement) Butit turned out to be the perfect size for my needs.

Will this change my life for the better?

This scoop was disgusting, stuff was growing all over it, in addition to rust. Didn’t even bother opening up the sealed wrapper. Look at all the pics people posted, they speak for themselves.
