How do you get the batteries in the TP-53 with magnetic apartment?

Just squeeze the little 1/4 inch white lever right below the center of the magnetic bar while pulling up on it to open the battery compartment.

Can it be calibrated?

The TP53 comes factory calibrated. It is not able to be calibrated by the user.

Can this device display dew point instead of relative humidity?

Good luck finding a meter that will display DewPoint in addition to RH% for under 15 bucks! The only weather device I own that can provide both is my Davis VP+ weather station. That will set you back just under $800.00 USD. ;o)

I want to use it to monitor humidity in a cheese cave at about 85%. Will it measure humidity this high?

Yes it will. The humidity range is 10%-99%.
