Amazing watch for the price
Update Sept 2021: 2 year update. Watch is still awesome. It is my go to daily wear. I see a couple negative reviews and don't get it. Can you read instructions? If so, you can operate this watch pretty easy and after a few repetitions there is no need to refer back to them. I've had zero issues with battery life or charging. This thing is a beast. I purchased a screen to prevent scratches and that has been awesome and kept it looking brand new. It is super light and comfortable and I love the easy read of the face. It lands somewhere between casual and office, but I wear it to more formal occasions too. I wear this watch over Citizens double it's price. Great watch!! -------------------------------------- 2019 review: This watch is amazing. I’m not a typical “sensor” or multi function guy. I like style, form, and finish, usually Citizen or Seiko. I travel to China for work and I wanted something cheap and simple to display China time and home time in one glance. This fit the bill and I liked it’s look better than other variants of the same model. Now that I have the watch, wow! It’s rugged, light weight, solar, easy to read, and stylish enough for the office and after hours. After some minor calibrations I find myself checking the weather outlook with the barometer, checking temp, and just love all the features. After perusing the manual, it is quite easy to set up and calibrate. For the price this is an insane bargain! Buy this watch, you will not be disappointed!

A truly awesome Casio pro trek! Just love the dial design and features.
In my personal opinion, this is the best Casio Pro Trek that I have ever owned. I am a big fan of Casio Pro trek & G-shock and I just can not get them enough, even though I already have so many of them. This is one of the very best ones that I have ever owned in my life. First of all, I only paid $189.00 (when similar ones are selling at $279 or so) and I just love how easy it is to read the dial. I love the design and also it has so many useful features and functions that basically it can do it all. I really like the Solar feature, so I do not have to change battery at all and it is big enough (47mm) for my wrist (7.4 inches) and it fits perfectly. The resin band is so comfortable (one of the most comfortable resin bands from Casio) and it uses 24mm band, so I can easily switch up with other 24mm bands. Awesome Casio Pro trek and I have absolutely no complain what so ever.

Don't believe a review about battery issues.
Too bad Amazon stopped allowing us to comment on reviews. Today's most popular review complains about a "LOW BATT" indicator, but he also states he uses the auto-light feature that illuminates the watch with a rotation of the wrist. That is the cause, and that feature should come with a warning from Casio. Avid outdoorsmen/boys, my sons and I all wear Casio three-in-one watches. One son's watch went through a LOW BATT episode. Since his was identical to the one I wore at the time we tried swapped watches, but since this didn't help, we knew it wasn't a user issue. I compared settings and found the only difference to be the auto-light active on my son's watch, and that turned out to be the problem. I turned it off and problem solved. We traded back and now more than a year later both watches are going strong, although mine is now strapped to the arm of another son. Those are the PRG-270 by the way, an excellent and bargain-priced watch -- especially when you can find it new from Amazon for under $90, as I did back in March of 2017. I don't know why Casio watch prices vary so much on Amazon, from Amazon as the seller. To wit: I paid $139 for this, my PRG-600, just over a year ago in June of 2020 but today it's listed for $189. It's worth $189; I was shocked when I stumbled upon it at the $139 price that was not any kind of deal, lightning or otherwise. I love this watch. It is thick and heavy, but I'm a middle-aged man who was born wearing a man's watch, so I'm used to it. I had a Swatch back in the 80s and I've had an ultralight dress watch or two but honestly, give me something I can feel, something I know is on my wrist. This does that and it looks great, too, but it doesn't scream money, so I'm not afraid to wear it in a questionable neighborhood. Typical or not I don't know, but my copy is not as accurate as other Casio watches I've had. Still, it it's not bad. It has lost a total of 26 seconds since I bought it, including 16 seconds between the last I set it in November of 2020 and today, July 23, 2021. (I set it to an atomic clock and make a note in my phone's calendar every time I set a watch, noting how far off it is.) This one might not be as accurate as my other Casios, but it is at least consistent. And two seconds per month isn't bad -- I've had much worse. When I was a kid I'd have been delighted with a watch accurate to two seconds per day. The only other caveat for you to consider is this PRG-600 uses the stem to set time and other functions, in a process that is not intuitive. You will not be able to adapt your experience setting Casio digital watches to setting this. I cannot say whether older digital-analog watches used similar procedures because this is my first triple sensor digital-analog watch. I suggest downloading a user's manual from Casio's website. It's free, and as with any Casio watch, to get the right manual you need only the four-digit module number that's engraved on the back of the watch. On this one it's 5497. Overall this is a nice watch with little to fault. Sure, it could be a bit thinner, and despite my earlier comments, a skosh lighter. I'd like it to have a feature to unblock the digital display from any mode, not just modes that require the display (maybe with a long-press of a button). And of course atomic accuracy would be nice, but that comes with an increased price I cannot justify. At this price point this watch can't be beat.

Fantastic watch for an amazing price.
This might be my favorite watch I own and I have several more expensive watches. But I love this one, it’s practical with the timer, alarms, world time (which I have set to London for business reasons), temperature, barometer and stop watch functions . Plus it has a fantastic face. Really great. I bought a fabric band as sometime the rubber bands make me itch, but for some reason this one does not.. highly recommend this watch. Oh and it runs on stored light. Nuff said.

Not as complicated as some are making it out to be.
There are plenty of good reviews explaining the great things about this watch, and you should pay attention to them. The watch is good quality, great looking, and has plenty of features for those of us who live an active lifestyle but don't want/need a computer on our wrist. But mainly, I want to address some of the biggest and most repetitive complaints, because many are just wrong, and some are from people who are just too lazy to spend 5 minutes learning how something works before complaining about it. 1) "The watch is too complicated...setting the time is even difficult." - Yes, this watch is more complicated than a watch that just tells time. Yes, the screw-in crown may be different than what you're used to. You don't set the time with this like you do a normal watch...you tell it what time zone you live in, by making the second hand point at your home time zone, which is displayed on the bezel. 2) "The digital screen is hard to read because the hands are always in the way" - Pushing the lower-left and lower-center buttons simultaneously will move the hands to the 2 o'clock position, leaving the screen viewable...this is in the manual. 3) "There's too much to remember to use every feature on the watch." - I don't know what to say...buy a smart watch? This is an analog watch with a lot of features...yes, it takes time to remember if you're going to use them all (but, let's be real for a second...most of us bought this for a few key features, and aren't using them all. But even if you are, it's not that complicated, just take the time to learn it). 4) "The temperature isn't accurate." - This is true...think about it. The watch is sitting on your wrist and taking the temperature of the air through the sensor on the left side of the case. The air in that area is going to be affected by your body heat. However, in multiple climates, I've tested the watch temperature against the temperature on my phone, and it's within 4 degrees fahrenheit. If you need it to be super accurate, you won't want to rely on it...but if you're looking for a "good idea" of an approximate temperature, the watch is more than adequate. Again, stop buying analog watches and expecting smart watch functions. 5) "The compass/barometer/etc isn't accurate." - Mine are...calibrate yours (instructions in the manual). 6) "The backlight is too bright/makes it hard to read the watch face." - I disagree. Maybe this is something that's changed, but the backlight on my watch makes the face easily readable without being so bright to be distracting. If you're being "blinded" by it I'd have to guess you get in an accident every time you encounter a car with its headlights on. The auto-light feature works great, though admittedly it does require you to move your wrist at a bit of a awkward motion, which should be common sense as you wouldn't want the light activating every time you itch your nose or move your arm. Once you get used to it, it can be a useful feature, but most of the time it's easier and less awkward feeling to just use the button. At the end of the day, this is a high-quality, super accurate and useful multi-feature watch. I primarily rely on mine for the compass, barometer and of course time keeping. Though I don't regularly travel outside of my time zone, I do on occasion, and I've found the world clock to be useful and simple. I spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking and hunting. Though I carry a compass and map in my pack, I prefer to have the compass on my wrist once I have my bearings, and this one never lets me down. It's simple to read, quick to activate, and is spot-on accurate. I use the barometer to gather intel on barometric pressure when I'm hunting or doing long-distance shooting. While not a critical piece of information to have unless you need pinpoint accuracy at great distances, it does affect your shot, so I like being able to quickly gather a reading and factor it in.

Geat watch. Perfect time keeping..
This watch is big -- like something Flavor Flav might hang around his neck (maybe not quite that big), but it is light weight and feels good on the wrist. The design is attractive, the dial is easy to read, and so is the LCD panel. The panel is of the "positive" type, meaning dark characters against a light background. I stay away from Casio watches with the negative digital displays. They are nearly impossible to read in anything other than bright light. I synchronized this watch to the time on the U.S. National Institute of Standards website when I got it more than one month ago and checked it against that time signal yesterday. It may have been off by one second, but that also may be because I was off by a little bit when originally setting it. I have Casio watches that use the WWVB time signal out of Ft. Collins, Colorado to synchronize every night, but given the tme keeping accuracy of this watch, the radio signal/atomic clock time setting really provides no advantage except for initially setting the time. I charged this watch in sunlight outside and also through a window for a couple of days when I first received it, and it has never dropped below a full charge just with daily wear. The band is silicon, so it is softer than the resin bands and is a bit more flexible and comfortable.

Perfect Replacement for my old Casio
This watch replaced my older CASIO which still - after fifteen (15) years - works with the exception that the buttons no longer function so setting the time on the digital side of things is over. As soon as this battery gives up the ghost it will likely hit the drawer of lost and forgotten watches. This CASIO is a dream for older eyes as it's hugely easy to read. The light function and alarms are very easy to operate once you get through the first few times. The watch does a lot more than I need - but it's fun messing around with the functions occasionally. The time sets itself and the built in solar charging seems to supplement the battery very well. The band is outstanding. The watch is lighter than my old CASIO which I thought would give it a cheap feel. I've only had it a few months. I'm used to it - actually like it. Given the older Casio watches I have had lasted 10 or more YEARS - a follow up to this review may never come. Don't hesitate to buy this watch if you don't need or want a full blown smart watch.

It looks even better on your wrist than in the ad. I can't stop looking at it.
I really liked the looks of the PROG 600 1CR as pictured in all on of the videos and Amazon ads. But I had a few reservations. I figured I would buy it and then make my decision when I had it in my hand. Here were my concerns. First I was really concerned about the size. Secondly I wasn't real crazy about the silver bezel. The best I can figure out is there are a lot of guys out there with tiny wrists. My wrists aren't big, 7.25 inches, and let me say this watch looks great on my wrist. Funny thing, under normal lighting and not the scrutiny of the lens and flash of a product shot and the bezel seems to reflect darker shades of light causing it to drop back out of noticeable sight thereby reducing the what might seam to be a larger footprint . So my initial concerns vanished in the first few seconds out for the box. I have 20 watches, I think this is my new EDC, (every day carry). Things to know. There is no Sunrise Sunset. It will not save a bearing while in compass mode. Good news, I really don't use those functions much. I like those functions on my 9400 Rangeman and the bearing saver on my Mudmaster GG1000, but they are not that important, as long as the compass points north and indicates a bearing then Im just fine with the PRG 600 1CR . Which brings me to a very important point. The 1CR is a positive digital display. I will never buy a negative display again, you just can't read them when you need to. Keep in mind the Hand Sto feature makes up for the lack of the two I mentioned. To wrap it up I ordered this watch a total of 3 times. Two times I cancelled the order because of the first two reasons I opened with in addition to the fact that who in their right mind needs 20 watches??? I'm glad I ordered it a third time and did not cancel the order. This is one nice watch. If you think you want it, trust me, get it. You will not look back.
