Perfect for hemming dark cloths.
I have been kicking myself every since I purchased this chalk because I should have done it years ago. I am very short and need to hem everything. I usually use a dark marker to measure my lines but then have trouble seeing them. I just hemmed 4 pairs of pants that I have been putting off for months because its so hard to see the lines. I think I had these pants done in half the time. I would tell anyone that it is well worth it to purchase this product.

High quality
Was nervous to open it at first because I read reviews after I placed to order (for some odd reason) and saw that many customers received the chalk in broken bits. I was lucky enough to receive mine in one piece and I think it’s better than I had expected. The chalk fits nicely in my hand and shows well on fabric.

Arrived broken and unusable.
Arrived broken into MANY tiny pieces. I had to exchange it for an undamaged chalk.

Great product, Perfect if It arrives in one piece.
This chalk is very nice. Marks well, especially with the new edge which is nice and thin. I suppose I'll have to keep the thin edge. The main thing is it brushes off easily as well as giving a distinct mark. I've already used the white chalk with great success. The white arrived in one piece, but the blue chalk arrived broken in two. I think I will return the blue and hope to receive another in one piece. The pieces would be manageable now, while they are large pieces, but soon I'll be down to two pieces that are too hard to keep the edges and will become two small pieces - each too small to handle. But the product is good! An little extra layer of bubble wrap around the chalk package would greatly increase chance safe arrival. It's in a thin papery box inside a large bubble shipping envelope which gets tossed on the porch by the door and it just can't withstand being tossed like that.

Classic tailors chalk.
Classic tailor's chalk made from clay, wax, and pigment. While it can take a bit to get used to handling one of these (my young fingers snapped a few in half as a kid: don't worry, just sharpen an edge if needed and now there are two!) one you've got the hang of it, you'll give up your pencils for all but the tightest of spaces. Creates a fine line that is pretty easy to brush off provided it has not been heat set. A few triangular chalks, some silk thread for tailor's tacks and a good hera tool are all you need to mark fabric for classic tailoring and most other garment making. The best way to sharpen one (since clover doesn't seem to market their sharpener overseas) is with a penknife or by holding at the proper angle against a piece of toothy paper and rubbing it to sharpen. I've had mixed luck with the dritz sharpener since the point it makes doesn't seem as fine.
