Cleans the floor and then picks up dirty water!
Works! Better than a mop - no bending, no squeezing, no bucket! Must clean tank and roller after each use, This is easier though for me, so like it.

Easy to use in carpet and hard floors
I use this on my carpet all the time I even use a little bit of the water function on the carpet because it helps get all the extra hair and things lying in the carpet. And I use it on my tile and vinyl floors. It’s important to wash your floors while everything is still fresh, because it doesn’t come off as easily if it’s hardened and stuck to the floor. However, I do use pretty hot water in the machine and it helps a lot with getting everything unstuck. I also recommend pouring hot water or spraying your floors in the extra dirty spots prior to using the floor cleaner. I use this every day. It’s very easy to clean. Run the self cleaning option then take out the roller after use so it dries completely and doesn’t get smelly and dump the dirty water and rinse the container. I use it daily as I have young kids and my floors get messy.

Can't finish an area!
DO NOT WATSE YOUR MONEY OR TIME - So many others have the same issue! After using the device for a little while I have to say it is tremendously better than the last 3 Hoover floor cleaners I have owned. It does a decent job scrubbing the floor and applies a healthy amount of solution to work with. The squeegee action does an excellent job as well. The biggest issue I cannot seem to overcome is the machine is constantly stopping and reporting that the retention cup is full. Like most machines, there is a float that rises to create a plug in the vacuum system which the computer reads as a full condition. The machine never gets to that point. When the system is fully dry it will run for about the first 15 minutes. Then the first trigger happens. The cup is only half full and I am not violently thrusting the machine back and forth causing the plunger to give a false reading. Nor am I using any concentrate that creates a foaming action. It appears the gauze and filter at the top of the cup collect enough water to "lie" to the trigger mechanism that the cup is full. Two of these filters came with the device initially so after emptying the half-full cup, I place the second filter in the retention cup and continue cleaning. Within ten minutes this replaced filter goes through the same results. Now, when I replace the cup I can get anywhere from one to three minutes of run time, and the machine stops to report that the retention cup is full. At this point, there is almost nothing In it and the plunger mechanism is all the way at the bottom.I cannot figure out a way around this problem. The mechanism for detecting that the machine needs to be emptied is WAY too sensitive. I cannot complete a small kitchen area with it.When the machine works it does a decent job.The auto-cleaning cycle also works well, when and if I can ever get it to work through a complete cycle because it also stops mid cycle reporting the cup is full. I just get frustrated. Clean the parts by hand and put the machine away.I would like to give it more stars, but this issue is a real deal breaker for me. I am at the point now where I cannot get any support or return for the device. If there is some way to correct this issue, it would be a decent floor cleaning machine.DO NOT WATSE YOUR MONEY OR TIME

Excellent hard-surface floor cleaner, easy to use and efficient!
We've had several Hoover Floormates over the years, most of which lasted only about 3 years before being unusable due to no pickup, or screaming motors, or totally dead. The Sanitaire model, while more expensive, is a HUGE improvement! The cleaning action is much better due to the horizontal roller as opposed to the spinning brushes, and the swivel-head makes getting under cabinets and into corners easy. The wet pickup is outstanding, the Floormates always left our floors wet and could never pick up very much water, the Sanitaire leaves the floor very close to dry such that it only takes a few minutes to finish drying. The self-clean operation is very handy and works extremely well, but even if you need to dismantle the unit to clean it more thoroughly, it's really only a matter of 10 minutes or so to do the complete job. Finally, the detergent and pickup tanks are larger than the Floormat so you can do more work without stopping, the detergent tank alone is about twice the volume. Plus, the one I bought on Amazon came with an extra spare cleaning roller and an extra waste tank filter. Finally, this unit is much quieter than the Floormate, I'd estimate about half the sound level. We've only had it for about a month so I can't speak to its longevity, but the construction seems much more solid and heavy-duty, which is what you'd expect from a commercial version of an appliance. Definitely a satisfied customer!

Doesn't save time, just effort
It's great if you have employees that don't mop well and they know they won't have to work as hard but i feel you do have to be careful as it can be to powerful on some spots and older floors! One big point is it will never get the same coverage as a mop can and If the floor is well maintained mopping is a better way to go, and is just the same time to clean a mop and bucket as it is this machine when finished.

DOSE'NT WORK
This cleaner does not work to clean my floors thoroughly. I have a crawling great granddaughter. I clean the floors, and in the afternoon; I babysit her. Her clothes are dirty after she has crawled. It leaves like a film. I have even tried changing the rollers. The first one I got I had to return it. The brush wouldn't spin. I don't recommend this product. Also, it was a hassle to return.

Highly recommend!
Absolutely worth the money. I am comparing the Sanitare to the consumer grade machines by the other two major brands. They didn't scrub very well, extraction was okay at best, noisy, cheaply built, they are get what you pay for grade machines. The sanitare is well built, quiet, scrubs and extracts well. Due to the higher performance, the time to clean my floors has been greatly reduced. I now can skip the precleaning that was required with the other consumer grade machines. My entire house has hard surface floors. This is a major deal to now have a quality high performance machine for a reasonable cost.
