Two Stars for the Lovely Box. One Star Seller.
I requested an even exchange of my defective order through Amazon's return/exchange feature. I immediately packed the item up to send back the following day and thought nothing more of it, until I received a message from the seller. I replied and sent the same pictures that are in this review. I am leaving all correspondence between me and this seller here, so buyers can make their own decision as to if this is the store to buy from. Read other buyers' reviews of this store's products and of the seller, and see how the seller immediately responds to blame the buyer every single time. It speaks for itself.MESSAGES--From Seller:Dec 26, 2023 6:00 PM Hi Kalinda: Thank you for shopping with us. Amazon seller Quality Bargains & Goods would like to follow up on your recent return. --- Message from seller Quality Bargains & Goods: Please be aware a return shipping cost ($5 usually) and restock fee will both be deducted from this return. Paint variances are common in Funko Vinyl ---From Me:Dec 26, 2023 6:23 PMYes, paint variances with Funko vinyl is definitely a thing, but with all due respect, a black smudge, front and center--that isn't part of the character's design--isn't a "paint variance"; it's a defect. I'm including photos of the black smudge and of the unopened, pristine-condition box. I often purchase Funko Pop figures (and too many other items to be proud of) on Amazon, and I'm a Vine reviewer. I don't make a habit of returning things, but this wouldn't be something any collector would be okay with. Defects should be honored and replaced, or any number of "paint variants" could shipped out and profited from with restock fees. From Seller:Dec 26, 2023 10:46 PMAppreciate the photos - I see no damage to the product or box. Please contact funko directly if you have questions concerning their paint and return product policies. From Me:Dec 27, 2023 12:55 PMI didn't say there was anything wrong with the box. I included the box photos in a good faith effort to show that my *defective product* arrived in a box that was in great condition (I used the word pristine) and would be returning to you in the same great condition box. I did that to assure you that I wasn't attempting to scam you. Return and restocking fees are great ways to cut down on returns of impulse buys or annoying customer mind changes, but defective products are different, and I know that Amazon sees it that way, too. I suppose I should be thankful that my order didn't arrive with a broken ear, glued parts, or an even worse-condition exchange, as other buyers of yours have mentioned in their reviews. Though we both know you can clearly see the problem with the figure, I'll cancel my return request, because I don't want you to have another cent of mine. I'll buy the same thing from one of the myriad other reputable Pop figure sellers who pride themselves on sending out quality products and stand behind them, if for no other reason than because their names are attached to the transaction. I will also review this transaction and seller experience. Thank you for letting me know who not to buy from; I'll share that information with my collector friends.MY REVIEW OF THE SELLER:Sent a defective item (it happens; no problem). Seller informed me I had to pay a return fee of $5 + restocking fee. I provided clear photos of the defect & good-faith photos of the great condition that the box came in/would return in. He claimed he saw no issues w/the item or box. Others have been sent broken items w/same results. Buy from a seller who takes pride in quality. This isn't the one.By KC Schreiber on December 27, 2023.RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW:Buyer claimed they are a 'vine reviewer' and should get special treatment for returns.By Quality Bargains & Goods on December 27, 2023.Dec 27, 2023 2:05 PMMESSAGES--From Seller:Dec 27, 2023 2:05 PM Hope you have a happy 2024.From Me:Dec 27, 2023 3:38 PMTell me WHERE-- in any of my correspondence with you--I said I "should get special treatment for returns." It's not a claim that I'm a Vine reviewer; I am one, but I *never* asked for special treatment. What you have said under my honest seller review is wholly false. From Seller:Dec 27, 2023 3:42 PMKalinda, Thank you for your correspondence, I do think our transaction is closed and your messages do not require further action from my team. If you need to make a return please do so following the process under your order history. Hope you have a good new year and 2024.***So here we are, folks. For my money, I got a defective item and a publicly false accusation as retaliation for my seller review—one that could jeopardize my Vine membership. I'm sure there will be a seller response underneath this that I'll be unable to answer, but I guess it is what it is.***After purchasing a replacement from another seller, I opened the box to this one. Turns out, she has more smudges and scrapes than what I knew about prior to opening, and she has glue around her ears. The other I ordered doesn’t (see the comparison photo), nor do other Pops in my collection with similar designs.
