Q: I am having trouble fitting this around the nut. Do i need to take the top off the tube with spring as well?

Take the nut off the magazine cap/fore end ( lower tube ) and it should fit on there with no problem. That what I had to do.

No. It's for demonstration purpose only to show you what it matches with. Sorry about that.

Q: Will this fit kel tec ksg?

This nut remover is for the KS7 shotgun. For the KSG you would need the 6-Notch or 4-Notch Nut remover tool. The 4-notch tool was for KSG's made 5+ years ago. See our Amazon store for both of the 6-Notch & 4-Notch Nut Removers for the KSG's. We manufacture them all. Thank you.
