Kessil AP9X LED Aquarium Light

Light is awesome. App, not so much. Doesn’t connect then it does. Had to separate my WiFi networks to 2.4 and 5 because this only works on the 2.4. Apex is supposed to be coming out with a controller and I can’t wait. Edit 4/24/21 I was lucky enough to be selected for the beta testing of the apex integration. So far pretty cool. Changing my rating to 5 stars because I don’t need the app anymore.

Stay away unless you also want to buy the controller. I have controller on the way but if that doesn’t fix it, will all go in garbage and controller will be returned. Kessil firmware and WiFi is trash. Update. Controller works well. It’s a hassle to set up, but doesn’t miss a beat. Hey Kessil if you see this stop selling and marketing your WiFi junk. These lights are good but ruined by the WiFi. The app and firmware are useless. Make it GHL controller compatible instead out of the box. BTW. These are a serious downgrade from the ap7. Both in coverage and WiFi and app. When these wear out I’m seriously looking for something else unless the product quality issues are addressed and you return to the Kessil I used to know.

Bright only have it up half way even for acropora corals love it

the lamp is amazing. the hardware people did a great job. Except the mounting kit is SO LONG that mounting UNDER a hood.. leaves the lamp sitting on the glass and sbe 10 inches up. took hours to fix that. the problem is the HORRIBLE software. worst I've ever seen. useless. doesn't work. hard to figure out. Saw nothing but terrible reviews but only AFTER i bought it. I bought it based on reviews of the light. so the lamp is great.. the hanging kit is horrible and the software is even worse. I returned it and bought Radion. Night and dy difference. much more expensive. wish Kessil worked. stay away!!!!!
