Do not ship USPS!
Absolutely delicious. I cannot order it again until November because I live in hot Arizona and cannot take a chance that it will be sent USPS and they will melted.

Mocha Hot Cocoa Extra Dark Chocolate bar tastes dry and stale!
I love Lily chocolate bars. The selection inside Whole Foods has decreased so when I saw an online sale of Lily “Mocha Hot Cocoa Extra Dark Chocolate bars, I bought a twelve-pack box. This was a mistake. This product is not equal to other Lily products. The texture is dry. The flavor is weak. The texture of lily’s Coconut Dark Chocolate bars, 55% cocoa, is the smoothest because of the coconut milk fat, as well as the lower cocoa content. The Almond Dark Chocolate bars are also 55% cocoa and have a fabulous smooth texture. But the Extremely Dark Chocolate bars are 85% cocoa and have a great, smooth texture. So what’s up with the Mocha Hot Cocoa extra dark chocolate bars? I think have concluded are old and have been stored improperly. The expiration on the label says 020624AC. This would indicate a pull date of Feb. 6, 2024, two months from now.Bottom line, don’t buy this flavor even if you love mocha! You will be disappointed. Also, it’s better to buy your Lily bars inside a Whole Foods.

Great Taste...but
Great taste. I was surprised to find that it was not bitter, despite the higher cocoa content and the addition of chicory. The one disappointment was the texture. I assume it is the chicory that is responsible for the grainy particles in the otherwise smooth chocolate. To me, good chocolate should have a smooth mouth feel. While I can appreciate pieces of nut, for example, the chicory just renders the chocolate gritty, and therefore unacceptable to my personal preferences.

Great deal (relatively speaking) at less than $2 power bar
These are great! Didn't expire until December, 2025. I got them because they are a good deal for $24. They are well packaged. In great condition. They taste like dark mocha with crunchy chocolate bits inside. I happen to like it. If you are used the the milk chocolate bar, this is a different taste. Planning to make a lot of low carb peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies with this inside.

Extra Dark? Yeah, so freaking extra.
It’s not fair really, it’s just my personal taste. The product is 100% quality, but it’s got these hard things in it that feel like coffee grounds. I’m guessing that’s the extra dark cocoa? I actually prefer milk chocolate so why I thought I’d like this is beyond me. But when they say EXTRA DARK you really should believe them! It’s so bitter, dry and dark. If you’re into that sort of thing, you’re probably going to love these.

Strong stevia taste, but an okay substitute
This flavor isn't my favorite of all of Lily's chocolate bars (and they've recently redone their recipes and now taste more strongly of stevia, at least according to my husband), but this is consistently the least pricey to buy in bulk. If you're not into the stevia aftertaste, these would be great to use as a sugar-free option in baking (cookies, brownies, etc).

Absolutely yummy to me! And great shipping care!
Updating this review to express great appreciation for the insulated packaging which allowed product to be delivered intact (not a melted mess) in our RARE 75 degree weather in San Francisco. And as stated in earlier review, I LOVE this product! Thanks!!Must be personal preference, but I absolutely LOVE this Mocha Hot Chocolate bar. The "mocha" (um, coffee) is awesomely strong, just the way I like my black coffee drink. (Since I drink decaf coffee, the flavor is key for me, otherwise it's just brown water.) And I don't understand reviewers' comments about lack of "Hot Cocoa" flavor. This IS a chocolate bar after all; isn't a hot cocoa drink basically a chocolate drink? (Hence this is your cocoa drink in bar form, right?) But to each his/her own. I absolutely love it. I've tried other flavors and this is my favorite. Bought a 12-pack after trying one bar bought separately. My only concern is how much caffeine is in a serving or bar. So I've emailed Lily's directly to inquire about that. Hope they respond. I'm just sensitive to caffeine, and a little can affect my sleep. But timed, strategically, I plan to enjoy this big time—as I already am! And yes, the bar has the "gritty" bits of coffee beans (I guess that's what they are). But I like it, and it adds to MY enjoyment, anyway, the way nut bits might be in certain chocolate bars. Lastly, if you like dark chocolate covered espresso beans, you'd probably like this. It's a bar variation of that. Cheers!

not living up to hype
HUGE disappointment. Lily's was recommended highly as a ''great KETO'' chocolate, but at least this 'flavor', the Mocha Cocoa, was not just 'meh' but BLECH. Smelled strongly of coffee (which I normally like) even through the wrappers but no 'chocolate' scent or taste. Somewhat chalky and dry. Worst was the crunchy coffee 'bits', whether beans or possibly GROUNDS, I don't know, but they were all through the bar. Tried two of the 12 bars in the lot. Can't return so am going to try to 'sieve' out the bits by melting it, then forcing through a strainer. Not looking forward to the mess but can't afford to just throw them out. What a waste of time and money. I'll stick with my old reliable, the LINDT 90%, even though the carbs are higher.
