Remove protective cover( looks like part of meter) , lay meter face down and you will see battery cover it's held by 1 Phillips screw. Meter requires 2 ,AAA batteries.

Possibly DOA, does not turn on. It could be just dead a batteries though. Instructions are not good at all, eventually you'll get to a point in the manual that talks about the battery compartment and it says it comes with two AAA batteries, they are not in the box so they must be inside the device and probably dead. It says to open the battery cover by taking the screws out the only thing that I can see that look like screws are what looks like the eyes of a 😀. They look like Torx, but I have every Torx from 1 all the way up and I cannot get any to fit, look like a T3 or T4. Don't want to wreck it so will be returning it and maybe look for another brand.

PROS: large, easy to read screen. The “pen” style contact pins are easy to hold and give a good grip. This is quite versatile and handle both AC and DC, so it can be your go-to voltage meter for almost any use. Good battery life. With all the functionality, it can probably handle almost situation you would need.CONS: (The cons did not detract from this rating.) Really complex and complicated. If you are in the electrical or contracting business and/or are using this every day, it may be less intimidating, and you might need most of this unit’s capabilities.However, for the average home user who just needs to check the wiring or voltage every once in a while, this may be too much in terms of options and especially needing to remember how to get what setting working. I admit that some of the functionality is way beyond my technical level or my needs. So this is not really for the “average user’s” “average needs.”

So far, this meter has been great for my limited purpose of checking batteries. When I got this device, I imagined that I could also use it to check to see if wall sockets were hot during home improvement projects, check car electrics, and check batteries.This meter has a large display and a durable-looking case to protect it and keep the supplied leads organized.Highly recommended for home handypersons and anybody else who needs a quality multimeter.

I’ve use this thing about six times now since I’ve bought it. Being an electrician I like that I can pull it out and I don’t have to switch any dial for what I need I can just test. Thing has worked great for me. Even at night with the backlit screen.

Was soll dieser Feilbogen eigentlich darstellen, ja gut er zeigt schon an das das Spannungsführende Kabel dichter kommt. Aber nicht genau drauf, war wohl so gedacht.? Eine Kabelunterbrechung in einer Verlängerungsleitung finden wird schwierig, denn Selten ist die Unterbrechung mitten in der Leitung, sie ist oft an Stecker und Kupplung wo das Kabel zu oft abgeknickt wird*****Die Haltung Quer zum Draht ist unlogisch, der Sensor gehört an den Kopf des Messgerätes.> Verbessert das Alles und es ist ein wirklich gutes Messgerät, kann dann auch 49,90 € kosten.Ja ist schon klar, Meckern auf hohen Niveau, bin Fluke vewöhnt. !!!Mich hat die kleine Bauform angesprochen und mein Interesse geweckt.Für jeden Hobbybastler genau das Richtige, mehr braucht man nicht.

Good, but Probe Wire Pen broke as soon as first use!

I gave 5 stars because it meet the description and spec and I enjoy using it. However, if buying for a gift or if it is your only meter the automatic function might be a concern for some users. If you just want to measure voltages above 0.5v and current above 20mA the automatic feature means it is very simple to use and it works out what type of measurement you are trying to do. It will automatically read DC/AC and even switch to resistance for checking connections etc. It is also reasonably accurate and has many features including temperature for checking fridges and ovens etc. but not great for room temperature the accuracy is +/- 1% + 3C.The area of concern would be for a electronics hobbyist since it will switch to resistance mode if you try to use it with a current shunt. It might also inject voltage into a circuit when the intention was to read a voltage lower than 0.5v. I have not found a way of locking it into voltage or current only mode and I assume that is why the spec gives voltage and current minimums when meters usually measure down to zero.I find the meter comes in a hard case and is easy to read. It is very portable and useful to take camping or down to the boat. I would use it as a second meter for more advance use.

Just a great little tool for the money it's brilliant
