Garden Treasures 29.92-in W Antique Black Steel Wood-Burning Fire Pit

We went through fire Pits like you would not believe!! We purchased this same fire pit every 4 years! that is a long time for us but this fire pit last longer than others!

I purchased this item at Lowes, but it's the same make/model as listed here. I've had no issues with this fire pit, and encountered none of the concerns noted in the other review. I've owned the pit for over a year, and had numerous fires within. This is left outside year round, and has only minimal rust. To be clear, my dogs ate the fire pit cover about six months ago, so I attribute the rust to being left uncovered in the elements (Texas, so very little snow). For setup, i did place the feet on individual bricks to raise the item, and to keep the feet off the concrete in case of rust. I also (per the directions provided) filled the bottom of the pit with sand prior to having any fire within. The handles make for easy moving, and the "stick" works for placing and removing the cover. The only negative i encountered was the lid didnt fit perfectly on the body of the pit - it's just slightly off center. I'm sure if i cared enough i could bend it back into shape, but it's so close to perfect I haven't bothered. Besides, we normally leave the lid off except for storage.

Save your money, Look Else where. A very poorly constructed item. I opened box and it looked like item had been dragged behind a truck, I had to repaint using a high heat paint. Screws for legs need washers as the attaching holes are almost as large as the screw heads. Washers do not come with item. Also Heart Shield that attaches to bottom of pit is razor sharp, I am very surprised that this is allowed to be sold this way. Had to incase in a heat tape around edges to prevent getting cut. Screen hook that comes with item is useless, you might be able to cook Marshmallows with it but I think that would be a challenge. I would recommend to use a fireplace poker for safety. Also I would recommend putting Beach Sand in bottom to save metal from rusting out. Comes with a plastic cover very thin. Would I buy this item again, not in a million years. If this is the best Garden Treasures can do, I will not buy any of there items in the future.

Product is flimsy. Will not sit level, which means it wobbles on a concrete surface. Lid will not sit securely on pit (poor fit). This product is very cheaply made. I purchased at Lowe's for $99 online as this was a silent auction donation for a charity organization. I was out of time to do any more shopping for better quality. Delivering this to the auction is going to be embarrassing.
