Good food, small portion
These are great if you only eat one of the Oreos in the box when you open it...great flavor but not a lot of food for the gut. I regretted not packing two or three for each meal...what can I say, I’m American.

Convenient
I am impressed by how quickly these work, and they get extremely hot. I wish they were a bit higher in calories, and that is something I hope they work on in the future so I don't have to go through two for dinner. Decent tasting, I would say that they all taste like Chef Boyardee meals but still tasty after a day of hiking. Would recommend.

Items were as advertised & shipped quickly.
We haven’t eaten any of these because these were bought as emergency food. E we’re planning an out of state trip. These would be used in case we got stuck somewhere with no way to get to stores, etc.

A chunky heating element accompanied by a baby-sized food portion
Expect to remain hungry after having one of these. Most of the weight of the product is dedicated to packaging and heating. The food is not dehydrated. If you already carry a stove and utensils, look elsewhere (unless you like redundancy, traveling heavy, and hauling around a lot of garbage after the inadequate meal, like two pouches, a used-up heating element, a single-use plastic spoon, etc. Then again - and to be fair - if you're on a calorie-restricted diet, have no stove, utensils, plates, or access to potable water (but do carry around a pair of oven mitts), then this might be a good product to get.

Tasty.... but very expensive for hot tortellini
These taste EXACTLY like canned tortellini, nothing unique in terms of flavor.the real trick is the heating, fill about a third of the bag with water and let it sit, after a few minutes the heaeting element is soaked and kicks off. bam. you got hot dinner. (well half a dinner anyway more on that later)it works as advertised.. and taste reasonable well as long as you like canned food.DOWNSIDE. at the end of the event you have more waste than the amount of food you got.the other thing is, there are not enough FOOD in the bag, and the heating element could easily heat twice the food, I tried dropping two "food pouches" into one bag and it was perfectly heated. I sail and hike, and 250ish calories is simply not enough for a meal. Finally, the amount of waste makes this a somewhat poor choice for backpacking, as you will have a lot to pack back out.. the heating brick is now wet and weigh about the same as the meal pouch did by itself.I like the product because of its emergency situation convinience, and have been known to pop a pack while sailing because its a quick simple way to heat food when water is coming over the dodger. You CAN use this for hiking, but probably most appropiate for short hikes, a couple backs will feed a person for a overnight hike without having to bring a camp stove, but with a big penalty in stuff to pack back out.

Great for camping
These meals are so convenient for camping. They don’t take up much space, self-heat, everything needed is included. They also taste good.

No heating required
This product is great if you are looking to save weight on bring a stove like jet boil. Portion size is small and I would need to bags per meal when hinting in back country.
