Shout out to WI and Insects!
Really enjoyed this book. This book is a page turner. You really get an in-depth perspective of the characters and the insects. Written in a way that makes you feel like you are out in the forest with the characters fighting for survival.

Very Good Thriller
It has been a while since I have read a horror / thriller combination book, and this one didn’t disappoint at all. The author did a great job of quickly getting you into the scene, was graphic enough on the scenes to describe what was going on without grossing you out, kept you captivated, and, most important (to me, at least) was the plot lines were very believable and you could see something like this happening in real life. Many times, you felt as if you were right there. The ending came to a logical conclusion and you could leave it at that or continue on with the next book in the series. I picked this up for free during a Kindle promotion vs. its normal price of $4.99 and I received more than $4.99 worth of entertainment value. If you enjoy a good thriller, I would recommend this one.

Partly great; partly not so great - but I'd read the sequel.
First let me say that despite only a 3-star rating, I enjoyed the book. There was a lot of good stuff in describing the rain forest, the growing fear of insects, and in the action between the insects and the characters in the book. I did expect action before it finally came and probably would have liked a bit more of it therefore, but it was great when it happened. I did find that a number of the characters really were not given any personality and could easily have been substituted for eachother. Then the characters that we were given more about - well, I didn't really like them! They weren't likable except for maybe a couple of them. All that took one star off my rating. The second star departs for the ending. It lacked something, it felt anit-climatic, and the story felt a little unfinished. I was disappointed. I understand a 2nd book will be released and chances are I'll end up reading it despite the points I was not happy about in the book simply because I love man vs predator or natural disaster stories.

Loved it along with the follow up book that I just recently finished. I highly recommend this book. Not a horror story but something that I can see as actually happening. While a fiction the insects seemed real and the story was fun to read. Scary sometimes and kept my attention.

Intriguing
This book Insects got me just because of the name. I’m always looking for a good off the beaten path book. This was pretty good. It got ramped up towards the end, like it should, and all in all it was enjoyable.Beware, there are a few “f”bombs in here. I totally understand why, but just wanted to mention it to anyone out there.Getting ready to read the second book now.

A perfect bridge book
This is what I call a bridge book. When I finish a book and need a break before starting another book I read a bridge book. The story is predictable, writing is amateurish, all elements were checked off. The crazy professor, younger upstart, the sexy student, the doubting police officials. Check them off they are all in this book. If only the bugs had a connection to climate change or mid east terrorists the story would have been complete. This is a trilogy but save your money, it is too predictable to read book two and three. It did hold my attention and was the perfect mindless bridge book, now onto some good reading.

Interesting
I've been a fan of horror for many years and so when I saw this book on Kindle I was expecting a good old fashion horror yarn. That's what I got....sorta. The basic plot is tried and true; killer insects and frightened humans. However, the author never seems to get the plot moving with any consistency. It takes half the book to get the story moving. When the floundering humans finally encounter the insects it's sorta anticlimactic. The characters and not well developed and I didn't care for any of them. Plus, the characters were all cookie cutter....one whiner, one drunk, one with blind loyalty to the cause, etc. .... and none of whom seemed prepared to be on the expedition. Finally, the book simply ends. Everything is tired up in a few sentences. All that building up to have it end so quickly was disappointing and leaves one feeling cheated. Like buying a filled candy only to find no filling inside. But wait. Didn't like the ending? No problem. The author gives readers several endings. Pick the one you like and go with it.The bottom line is I always felt like I was reading a nearly finished final draft of what could have been a really fun read.Better luck next tIme, Mr. Koloen.

Insects : A NOVEL
Mankind has come to feel superior to the different life beings that live around us. We have succeeded in either tameing or capturing most. This book reminds you that we DON'T, SOME INSECTS have become immune to the pesticides we use to control or kill. NOW THEY ARE ATTACKING US. This THRILLING , HORROR TALE can only serve as a warning to us. We are not as prepared as we thought we were. Are they here? Who knows ! ARE THEY COMING ? SOONER OR LATER ??? DEFINITELY.....I RECOMMEND
