Cheap but quality is PREMIUM
I almost gave this product 4 stars. It's hard to assemble. However, it fulfilled my needs so well that I can't deny them. I need to add space to my Computer. I have so many extra NVME drives so now I have more of the faster storage. I've been fortunate in this manner thanks to this well-working product. I don't need any drivers, it was easy to fit into the motherboard even partially assembled, etc. The speed of the device makes it valuable. The price is awesome.

HP Microserver Gen8
Works with HP Microserver Gen8. Running Linux. This machine is pre-NVME so SATA SSD on this card is essential. Had to use onboard Smart drive controller and set up logical drive with just SSD, then leave topmost 2GB of SSD empty, but allowed me to finally use SSD as boot device.

Excellent! Kinda Of ...
Initial install on an Asus Rampage Formula IV motherboard with an Intel i7 3930k Used PCIe 8x lane with M.2 mount. Ubuntu Server 24.04 could see the drive during install and was able to install the OS to the M.2 drive - that said, the bios was (as I expected) not able to boot from the drive once installation was complete. 2nd OS install was with just the SATA slot filled using the pictured SSD. With the SATA cable connected there was no issue with installation or post installation boot into the Ubuntu OS. After OS installation, I removed the card, added the 1TB Rocket drive for additional storage, and was confronted with a GRUB error telling me the drive/partition containing the boot information was no longer attached. I have set all other drives in fstab with mounds using UUID as this will prevent (one hopes) Linux from reassigning drive destinations through sda - that worked for everything but the boot drive. The addition of the second drive continues to eliminate the SATA connected drive and boot OS. I will keep trying. All that said, good shipping speed, excellent price point, and so far very reliable.

DIY Storage Hero or Tiny Computer Chaos? A bit of both, but solidly working! :D
If your PC's storage situation is starting to feel like a hoarder’s closet, this little adapter steps in like a minimalist with a screwdriver. It supports both NVMe and SATA M.2 drives, meaning it doesn’t judge your SSD's past, just plugs it in and gets to work. The card feels solid, not like some flimsy piece of tech you expect to snap in half mid-install. Bonus points for including a SATA cable, because we all know those things mysteriously vanish when you need them. Installing it isn’t rocket science, unless your case has the cable management of a spaghetti dinner. Slide the card in the PCIe slot, attach the drive, maybe fumble a bit with the screws like a mortal human, and you’re good to go. No drivers, no drama, just straight-to-the-point storage expansion. That said, if you’re expecting blazing fast NVMe speeds from a SATA drive, welcome to a very polite reality check. Speed is also dependent on your system setup, motherboard and speed of your drives in the first place. It supports a variety of M.2 lengths, so unless your SSD is shaped like a baguette, you’re probably covered. The LEDs are subtle and won’t turn your case into a nightclub. It's basically a humble little workhorse that adds solid versatility without setting anything on fire... which is a low bar, but hey, tech has surprised us before. The only hiccup is airflow. Sandwiching an NVMe drive into this card without a heatsink is asking for thermal drama, especially if your case runs hot. And while it says it supports PCIe 4.0, your mileage may vary depending on your motherboard and how many fingers you crossed during installation. Still, it’s a great little add-on for breathing life into old SSDs. So bring your own heatsinks for the drives! :D 👍 Good Things: Supports both NVMe and SATA M.2 drives Comes with a SATA cable (because of course you lost yours) Handles various drive lengths like a pro No drivers or complicated setup 👎 Bad Things: Can run hot with no included heatsink PCIe 4.0 performance depends on your setup Cable management could turn into an emotional journey Not ideal for super compact cases

Hello, I have bought 2 of these adapters, I have a Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE board (rev. 1.0) with the updated BIOS, Windows 11, unfortunately after installing the adapter with a 1TB M.2 NVMe Kinstong disk when turning off the computer as soon as it turns off it restarts and turns on again, I changed the adapter for the other one since I bought both to check if it is a damage but the same thing happens, as soon as I remove the adapter from my PC my PC works normally.

Bought two of these for adding in extra M.2's via PCIE lanes. Yet to test them as they were more of a side project. Brilliant build quality and sturdy too. Not expensive either. One M key and one B Key so one m.2 is straight PCIE then the other is handled by SATA.
