Very powerful yet adjustable for such a small device
This is the first time I've seen a powerhead that has this type of design. It has a magnet on the back and the inside of the glass. I was skeptical if it would hold however my urchin has crawled all over it same with some large turbos and that thing hasn't moved. I love that it has this feature because I hate trying to pull off powerheads out of cradles or try to reconnect the magnets. This one you simply pull forward and place it right back on. Very easy for cleaning and maintaining the powerhead. How does it perform? GREAT! For such a small device it really moves a lot of water. It has a very easy to use app as well as the controller. I have it set on the pulse setting and it makes nice waves across the water. It also comes with 3 different flow directors too which is nice if you desire to change the broadcast of water flow.Overall I'm very satisfied with the small design, the powerful water movement and ease of set up, use and maintenance ability.

The Wavemaker was delivered promptly. Neatly packaged inside the box were the wavemaker, mounting magnet, control unit, power adapter and assorted accessories to adjust the flow pattern. Also included were the installation instructions in Chinese and English.Installation is intuitive with minimal dependence on the documentation. The unit was up and running within minutes of unpacking. The critical step is installing the control app on your phone. Both iPhone IOS and Android versions are available. The instructions were clear but the English would benefit from better translation.I installed my pump in a freshwater, 4 foot, 90 gallon tank. This particular tank receives virtually no bottom current. I was hoping to agitate the debris and direct the waste to the filter intake. My hope was to diminish the need for frequent vacuuming during water changes. The pump worked great and moved waste material into the water column where the filter could capture it. As claimed by the manufacturer, it is very quiet.Depending on application, a 4 foot tank would seem to be the largest application for this motor, especially if it is mounted at either end. A center mount would seem to be more appropriate to maximize its potential. The pump is great, but as impressive is the Bluetooth control application. The interface is intuitive and loaded with features. It should easily satisfy any salt water/reefer requirements in terms of scheduling and wave patterns. In my particular application it was good to be able to pulse the flow on a scheduled basis as opposed to have it running constantly.Thumbs up!

6 months and started to rust
It has been a decent little pump for the price, until I notice after cleaning, it has started to rust. Only had for 6 months. The wifi controller is pretty bad at connecting and remembering the setting you saved.

Nice and powerful, great powerhead/pump for a small/medium sized tank.
Small, quiet and strong. Tank is a 25g rimless. This does exactly what I wanted, the apps programming is pretty intuitive, the Bluetooth is sometimes slow to pair, but not any slower than any other devices I use with Bluetooth. There is 2 “Pause” settings each will stop the power head for a set amount of time a return to the original, pretty useful for feeding or quick photo sessions. The built in modes have tons of variability built into them and the custom mode also pretty sweet. It does great keeping detritus off the substrate and plants. The magnet works through the 8mm glass very well.

App is a big disappointment
I actually like the flow it puts out and it's small size. What I dislike is the app. It is not user friendly and sometimes has a mind of its own. The cyclic wave patterns frequently caused it to stall out at lower speed even though I kept it very clean. I basically paid the extra $$ to have a Bluetooth programmable wave maker, but due to the frequent frustration just run it in manual on high. If I had known, I would have saved some money. This is one of the more expensive wave makers in the market, but when it's frustrating to use those extra bells and whistles that cost extra...is it really worth it?

SMALL BUT POWERFUL, easy to use, clean and looks nice
when i first opened the box i was a little shocked by how minimal the wavemaker was. I put it on a 4ft tank and this thing CRANKS. not only that but the app is really easy and fun to play with. I also enjoy that it comes with several flow control options and theyre extremely easy to switch. The magnets are very strong and there are 3 pieces which makes cleaning SO easy. I also find that the grate holes are big enough that debris dont get trapped but small enough most fish couldnt get in. The manual mode is awesome incase you dont want to use the app and the settings on the app are unlimited. Ive used MP 40s prior to this, let me tell you, NEVER going back. This thing looks great and runs great and way easier to clean and customize.

Rust….
Worked fine for 12 hours. Found it stopped working and was trying to spin, the magnetic shaft had rust on it after 12 hours in the water. Pretty scary considering I have hundreds upon hundreds of corals and fish in the tank. Buy name brand….
