how far does it stick out from the wall? I'm looking for a small hook in this style that only sticks out about 1.75"

They do stick out a little further there larger then they look I thought they were going to be smaller

Can I install this hook in a shower room,will it get rust easily?

I think it can because it is made of 304 stainless steel.

I use this as a towel holder outside of the shower to hang dry damp bath towels. No issues with this kind of use but I assume that direct water will lead to damage such as installation outdoors or inside the shower.

Will they support a large bath towel?

yes,but if your bath towel is too large,I suggest you to buy a towel bar to hold it .
