Works great, but....
The attenuator works great. I wired it into an extension cabinet for my guitar amplifier so I can play with the amplifier cranked up to get the warm, dirty tube tones, but be able to play at a more sensible volume for practicing at home. It does that perfectly. A few things to be aware of: 1) You get the most adjustability between 1 and 5 on the dial. After 5, it's pretty much topped out. 2) Mounting it to thinner materials is best. I mounted it into a 1" thick MDF panel, and I had to do a good bit of recessing to get it to fit properly. 3) You must solder it in. I wired everything first using wire connectors to make sure the wiring would work before soldering it in, and the radio interference was ridiculous. It worked, but it was so noisy it was unusable. It all went away and cleaned right up when I soldered all of the connections. 4) Make sure you're using heavy gauge speaker cable... minimum 12 gauge. Worth the price. Does what it's supposed to do at that cost.

Worked very well in my application

Works great for subwoofer attenuation
I used this on my '15 Subaru WRX Kicker subwoofer which is not adjustable. I am not sure of the power output, but I would think it is at least 100W RMS. It helped me balance the volume with the front speakers which is impossible with the factory setup. Great product!

attenuator for 50 watt guitar amp
Great product. Wired it into my guitar cabinet between the input jack and the speaker to use as an attenuator for my 50w tube amp and it works well. I can dime it and at max attenuation you can barely hear a sound out of the speaker at all. It was the solution I needed and at a very good price.

replace plastic knob
The attenuator worked, but the plastic knob melted

Smooth, Noiseless Attenuation at all Volume Levels
Smooth, Noiseless Attenuation at all Volume Levels. L-pad is heavy duty and schematic on box makes wiring fool-proof.

Tamed my amp for cheap
Used on a 5 watt tube amp speaker to get overdrive at low volumes. Works great, doesn't get hot.
