Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD

I have a couple of these including the UMC404HD and UMC204HD's, and I have helped a few of my friends who wanted to get started with a home studio and advised them to purchase these. There are some cheaper DAC's I have purchased in the past and tested but do not work well with either Pro-Tools, or multiple add-on apps (such as Superior Drummer, Keyscape, EZKeys, Sonar, etc...) and I have had zero issues with the UMC-Series devices for multiple projects I have worked on.I have no issues with noise, latency, MIDI, attinuation, etc., with any of my UMC-Series DAC's.For low-budget, or starter studios, you should definitely consider the Behringer UMC-Series DAC's.Fighting with a piano part or guitar part or vocal is normal. Fighting with your DAC is unacceptable. --Tommy

I'd never used audio equipment before, and I'm glad I gave Behringer a chance. This is a pretty solid interface and it's great for beginners. It's simple to use, and easy to get to know. It works really well for what I was using it for, and I've not had any issues with it.I've also dropped the thing a half a dozen times. And despite a cracked front, it still works perfectly well! Definitely recommend because it's quite sturdy.

I use the audio interface to send sound directly from my DJ equipment into my laptop so I can broadcast/host virtual parties. The sound quality is much better than using an analog cable from the mixer RCA out directly into a laptop mic port. Plus, since the interface shows up on the sound panel as an actual device, I can choose the input for Zoom, vMix, etc. Perfect.

This is a great little device that could fit the needs of most anybody looking to record one or two channels of amazing sounding audio on a budget.The only issue is that occasionally the driver does not want to play nice with my mac. I actually almost returned it, until, after trying it on a PC, I realized it must be a driver issue which often responds to simply unplugging and plugging back in the device.Not a big deal. This thing sounds amazing, and the selection of inputs allows lots of flexibility. The insert, for my needs, would have been more functional if the driver allowed for two more channels for separate recording of the insert, which might be a reverb. This would allow me to mix the effect later on the DAW.In any case, I love the Behringer Euphoria and I recommend purchasing it. If you own an older Mac, like me, I think you will be fine. Just use it a lot over the first week so, if it does not work for you, it can be returned under Amazon or the seller's policy.

This interface is easy to set up and simple to use. It "feels" solidly built. We use it with an MXL 990 condenser mic.I am concerned about the strangely low mic level input in our HP laptop; however, testing the system as a desktop input suggests that that the issue is not related to the UMC 204 or the mic but is likely related to the current Windows 10 Pro, or to audio drivers, or to sound card settings, on the laptop. Will update as I learn more.

Great device, easy to use with a lot of options . Compared to the most expensive ones.
