More than worth it...
This game has just about everything you could want. The only thing it lacks is more game to play. From the ability to rewind time and be in not just two but SIX places at once, to the brutal magical destruction, not forgetting the many different rifles, machine guns and various swords, this game is amazing. It is somewhat hack and slash, but the story is still great and the game play and array of techniques and combinations with equipment keep you enthralled. Definitely worth the buy.

pretty good
I love how you can just rage on your enemies in this game. The story line is fun but i feel like it would be better suited for teens a great choice for getting girls nor into the rpg's. The grafics are very beautiful. All around fun game

Sort of easy, but very cool game
it's fun and has nice graphics. But in my opinion it's kind of easy. For example, when you have a rifle you can literally lock onto targets by just pressing a button. It's really easy to shoot them then. Also, I have no idea why it's rated M... yeah there's mild language and blood but it's really not bad at all. Should be rated T. Anyway, cool game.

Oh no. Oh no. Just. Oh no...
I have a certain soft spot for the underdog game... The low budget. The under-the-radar. The unappreciated movie tie-in. Some of my best experiences come from games like that. I figured Blades would be the same. I was wrong. So totally and utterly wrong that I may have to rethink how I see the universe. GoW clones can be pretty good. But you have to get a few things right, the first of which is the good, meaty combat. Blades fails at this first step so hard that the main character clipped through the floor and fell through the map. The combat feels bad. Incredibly bad. There is no weight to it whatsoever. No connection between you and the character on-screen. She floats around as if she is on ice. Her blows land with all the impact of a blow-up hammer hitting a fluffy pillow. And the enemies swarm you like you have the world's best edible and they are the world's best sniffer dogs. Death comes quickly. Not because the game is hard, but because there is no feedback. None. Nothing at all. If I was deaf, dumb, and blind, this game would find a way to ensure that I got even less feedback from the world than I already did. The story is terrible. Some treasure hunter goes to another world and something happens. Exposition is thrown at you from the minute you arrive in the other world. The main character is as confused as you are. No one knows anything and we're all asking questions that will never be answered. All I could find out for sure is that the main character is dumb as a box of dead frogs and greedy to boot. Everything else is terrible too, from the audio mixing (which was obviously done by a guy who never heard of audio mixing or even audio before) to the bugs. Oh the bugs. Get stuck on scenery. Fall through solid surfaces. Walk through the scenery and fall to your death. Such fun. I wish I could like this game. I can't. I don't see how anyone can. Maybe if it was your first ever game. Or you had fond memories of it from your childhood. But otherwise. Avoid at all costs.

Fun but very hard for casual gamer
The game story is pretty fun at the beginning but then it is getting ridiculous hard as you progressed. Boss fighting sometimes take hours to complete, to the point of total frustration and gave up. This took the fun out of me. I am a casual gamer, maybe play one or two evenings a week, I do not have much time to practice. Most of time, I can complete any game at "normal" mode, but not this one. Unfortunately, this game has only Normal and Hard setting. Besides the story mode, there is an Outbreak mode in which you play one chapter at a time. Normal or hard in the mode does not seem to make much different, and I can complete in both difficulty setting. Not sure why the story mode is so ridiculous hard comparing to this. The developer must be thinking hardcore gamers only. Besides this, I like the game character, she is beautiful and her fighting is awesome. Her voice is nice and nothing like Lara Croft (beside English accent) as some people commented. In summary: If you a hardcore gamer, yes. Casual gamer, prepare for some frustration.

Pleasantly surprised!
A few years ago I played the demo to X-Blades (the precursor to Blades of Time) and thought it was a nice looking game but it didn't seem to have much of a story (I still might go back and try the full game someday). I just picked up Blades of Time last week and am only about 5-6 hours into the game, but I must say, it has been really fun! The graphics are well done, the story is interesting enough. The gameplay is solid and there are tons of combos and upgrades as well as hidden chests with interesting items contained within. Overall, for the price, you will be hard pressed to be disappointed. Easily worth $40! Oh, and its already been pointed out by other reviewers, but as someone who can only play games with inverted controls, the demo does not support inverted controls, but the full game does (at least if you have your Xbox default setup that way).

Worth The Price
This is a great game, with hours of enjoyment. My kind of game, with excellent graphics and sound. Challenging, and addictive.

I`ve already read the reviews and knew ahead of time that the gameplay is "okay". It's a decent game, but I mainly bought it for the graphics and the sexy girl! For a $15 game, i'll accept an "okay" game with sexy girls.
