My go to geological hammer
As a geologist, this is the best hammer. It is strong, not too heavy, and helps me in the field.

If you need one, get this one
I love this thing honestly. I have used it for rock hounding and fossil hunting and its held up the entire time. The grip is very comfortable while the metal has been greatly corrosion resistant even when exposed to water/left in muk and grime for a few days. Overall, I would suggest this to someone even if its costs more- you're getting what you pay for and that is certainly quality.

Excited to Finally Own the Classic Estwing
This is my first Estwing rock pick and it absolutely lives up to its reputation. The one-piece steel construction feels incredibly solid, and the balance makes it easy to swing accurately even as a new owner. The shock reduction grip is comfortable right out of the box and inspires confidence for long days in the field. Overall, it feels like a serious, professional tool and I’m genuinely excited to put it through its paces on my upcoming trips.

A Comfortable Classic
Took this baby on a month-long sprinter van trip that included a real dino-dig in Montana.... it's a beast. For the sandstone and softer rock, I could have probably gotten away with a smaller option. But for breaking bigger rocks and rough exploration (deep digging) this thing is fantastic. My grandpa had an Estwing hammer. It was passed down to my dad and now to me. I expect I can do the same with this rock hammer... if I don't wear it down before then. :)

Amazing craftsmanship
These things are amazing. I got several for my children and myself. They feel very solid and sturdy. Breaks rocks like a champ too. Handle feels great. I was worried I should have gotten the longer version for leverage but it turns out this length is plenty good for leverage. As far as what I need at least. They were worth every penny. Don't cheap out. I nearly did. Glad I didn't now. This is well worth the money and will actually last. I've tried a few. This ones durability is superb. I can't wait to try out some of their other rockhounding tools!
