DOES work with Vivint, you WILL have to call to unlock etc.
Super easy to install and over half the cost that Vivint charges to drill a hole and put in the door.Keep in mind you WILL have to call Vivint to unlock your installer toolbox. Secondly, it isn't simply plug and play to add these sensors to the panel. If you call vivint to have them add to the panel remotely, you will need the TXID included on the sensor. It is located on a sticker on the circuit board inside the plastic tube. You can then either add to the panel by going to Installer Toolbox (Software Version) > Zones > Wireless Zones > Add Sensor. You can go off of other door sensors for reference of the data presented, but you'll need to ensure you add the TXID you saved previously. My suggestion? Install the hardware, close the door then call vivint and have them setup the sensor. They'll ask you to open and close the door to learn the TXID of the sensor to the panel. After they add it, you can go back and edit the voice prompt and other settings to your preference.TLDR: Works with vivint. Is more involved than simply drilling a hole, however. Over half the price Vivint currently charges for the same sensor.

NOT compatible with Vivint security system
Bought this to replace a Vivint sensor that had water damage. Package arrived with no issues. Does not connect with Vivint security system. I called Vivint, and had them unlock the installer toolbox as mentioned in other comments. There is no TXID listed anywhere on or in the device. Tried to “learn” the device several times with no luck. Vivint does not recognize any sensors not bought directly from them at a totally inflated price. Do not buy if you are expecting it to be compatible with Vivint.

Plug and play
Unlike other reviews, this item was easy to install for me. I have a newer Vivint system, maybe that makes a difference. I just went into the settings and hit “Install New Sensor.” It directed me to pull the tab and open and close the door a couple times. There was no tab to pull, so I just opened the door a couple times, and that was it.

Easily installed - worked great after configuration
Exact duplicate of the one that was giving us trouble. After the sensor code was changed in the panel, it worked well and didn't give trouble alert that the old one was giving.
