Is it a soft chalk that you use on fabric?

No this is a chalkboard chalk and the dust gets everywhere...so not dustless AT ALL... the only dust you're getting on fabric is the dust that comes off onto your hands.

What are all the ingredients in the chalk? I would like to use this as a mineral block for my bird
