Review: Fabulous empowering read - This is a must read book telling the story of a ordinary girlโs extraordinary decision to have a child on her own , despite belonging to a disapproving Indian traditional family. Written with Meghnaโs trademark entertaining touch, this book is not just fun but also talks about empowerment for women and is an important read for all of us women out there trying to pave our own individual path in todayโs world. Must must read. Hope to see it in a film soon. We need more content like this. Review: MUST READ๐ฆ - Mrs Amara Joshi aka Ladoo๐,a 34 year old simple middle class divorce from Rishikesh wants only one thing in life - A Baby. Now, She is now in the hunt for finding her Mr Vicky donor (sperm donorโ๏ธ) and/or just gonna freeze her eggs and wait for her love Mr Right to come. But, her mom Mrs Joshi was sugar coating her and was against the idea of this westernized insemination method. I didn't like Mrs Joshi at first, her perceptives about what will society think about this pregnancy without getting married. She's been sugar coated by the gossypies ladies around. There's a great message is this society is not the thing we should think about, think about ourselves and do want we wish to, not what others wish to see in us. F*ck the society๐คฆ. And also Varun too. He's a idiot. That was a epic dialogue by 410 (her best friend Gautam) towards the office people when they were body shaming and harrassing Ladoo ; 'What do idiots know about India's sanskar and parampara? Do you know that kunti gave birth to Karan without being married? That Sita was adopted? That Draupadi was born through surrogacy? Our Shastras normalised women having children as per their choice. Then, who are you to pass judgement? Who are you to make modern India more regressive than ancient India? Stop watching these western shows. They don't make you progressive. Watch Mahabharata and Ramayana on Doordarshan. Change your outdated way of thinking. And , till then, shut up!.' - That was the best one. Omg, there's a lot of double meaning phases in a good and funny way, I was just laughing along๐คฃ. Haha, I just realised it too that the children's nursery rhymes are pretty dark๐คญ. This is a comedy fiction, fast paced, light read, beautifully written and I have read this in one sitting. The first chapter itself is soo funny and make you read further. Awww, this is the book you need to lighten up your mood๐ฅฐ. Soo funny and heartwarmingโฅ๏ธ.

Parenthood is A Choice. A Love which no one can detect you with
It is difficult to be a mother. But it is more difficult to be a single mother. It is not unknown that a single parent of this society is questioned at the every step of their lives. Their decisions are looked up with suspicion and their morals are questioned. But is it true? What โtheyโ think! What โtheyโ say! Being a Parent is a choice. It is not a duty not a responsibility it is a choice of being happy. The book leaves behind the exact same message for the society behind. Amara knows her biological clock is ticking, she needs to act and her actions will bring some terrible reactions from the society, beginning from her home. Written in a simple manner with language lucid and easy for every reader to read, this book will make you laugh, become emotional and boil your blood with rage, at times. The plot development has some pot holes when it takes an abrupt change. The character developments leaves me confused for sometimes because when everyone tries to do the right thing, starts to make everyone happy. The book, soon to be made into a Major Bollywood movie โBadnam Ladooโ, is written mostly keeping that in mind. When I look at it as a movie not a book I will give it 5 out of 5 stars. But, when it comes to book there are many plot holes and loop holes in character development which makes me take away two stars Then the social message delivered through this book makes me give back another start. With 4 stars and lots of love this book is an enjoyable one time read. If you are looking to read something light and heartfelt. Go for it . Barfi will make you smile in the end and 410 will keep tickling you.

A Lighthearted Book with a Strong Message
I found the title on Instagram and decided to give it a try, and I totally loved it. The plot starts to unfold and you start falling in love with Ladoo, you start to understand her struggle and in the end you feel happy when everything falls in place. Must read book.

Loved it
The book takes you through Amara aka Ladoo's journey about deciding to be a single mother, convincing her family to support her, taking the societal norms and assumptions one on one, accepting her insecurities, choosing to live her life on her own terms and breaking stereotypes. I was smiling, laughing throughout the book, it felt like I was watching a bollywood blockbuster with an amazing cast and well written characters. It was an unputdownable read for me. I enjoyed each and every page of it. The writing style is so engaging that it transports you to the world of the book. Every character has a spark of their own and their stories are also told smartly. The book talks about friendship, bonds, familial relations, family drama, divorce, being single mother, stereotypes around accepting IVF and insemination as choices to conceive etc. My favourite thing about the book was Ladoo and 410's friendship. One line that I can't get out of my head is 410 referring to freezing eggs as "THANDA ANDA" ๐๐.. and everytime I read a scene including shirtless Sandy, the only face that came in front of my eyes was of Milind Somam's ๐๐ I think every man and woman should read this book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED โค๏ธ
