Thorough clearly presented, with good examples and a touch of humor. I feel it's my duty to check out other texts on survey research design, but I never find one that replaces Babbie (which is updated regularly).

My book was missing the end of chapter 6 and the start of chapter 7 (pages 164-214). Since this book is for school, the missing pages almost resulted in a poor grade.

This textbook is fine. It is accurate and includes most of the important topics within social science research methods. But, it is often redundant with unclear examples. Many of the “Key Concept” definitions seem as though they were copied out of a dictionary as opposed to being written from a social science research perspective, making the more complex terms more difficult to put into context. As a frame of reference, I am a Master of Public Health student studying social and behavioral sciences, so perhaps there are other fields/professions that would find this textbook more appropriate
