Well Made Garden Tool
I received the item as promised. The Tools did what they are supposed to do, made my gardening enjoyable and easy. Well, constructed tool, The tools can be used for different task for example cultivating, radicate weeds, make holes for planting, mixing my compost with the bulb drill, make small trenches direct sow. I took advantage of 2 whole days of weeding, prepping and cleaning up my yard for spring planting. I enjoyed it and did not feel exhausted. For those of you who cannot bend or have limited mobility you can grab a cheap plastic chair and do this sitting down, The tools are long enough. If you find them too short you can go to home depot/Lowes and get an extension rod where they sell stuff for power tools. I recommend this product to all gardeners.Update: Happy 4th birthday!! I still have them and they are still going strong. Love my tools! they make it very enjoyable and easy to garden.

Weed Claw Good on Knees But Not Great for Back
The bottom line on the weed claw is that I was looking for an effective weeding device that is easy on the knees (excellent, no kneeling required) and easy on the back (only moderately successful in that the weed claw does not reach the ground from an upright standing position). Getting more specific, when I am standing upright, the palm of my hand is 32" above ground level versus 22" for the length of the weed claw shaft. One makes up the difference by bending over each time one goes after a weed. This caused me noticeable lower back pain after 10-15 minutes of use. As for the weed claw's effectiveness as a weeder, the weed claw appears to eliminate the majority of weeds having a clear crown/single root stem to attack: that would include buttercups and dandelions. But it can often take 3 to 4 rounds of poking into ground and turning on the drill to convincingly eliminate a weed. This can obliterate a patch of grass perhaps 4 inches across -- not pretty. The 3/8" stainless steel shaft on the weed claw appears sufficiently sturdy to last a fair while.

Worked Well For An Older Gardner
My father in law is a master gardner and ever since I have known him his garden has one of great pride and beauty. However as he gotten up in age I don't have to ask how he is doing I just look at the garden and can see that he is starting to slow down. Weeds are popping up and he no longer grows as much as he has in the past. I was afraid to give him something to assist him as he is stubborn and somewhat set in his ways. Once we showed him what the weed claw could do he disappered and went to town on getting rid of the existing weeds. The next time I visited he was using it to plant some bulbs. It is easy to use, keeps him from bending and really helped get back control of the garden. In my opinion it seemed to re-energize both my father in law and his garden.

Super good for mass planting
So, there was this one time when I overdosed on Martha Stewart Fall/Spring planning and decided to order like 2,000 bulbs.I had no idea that to "plant" them you'd need to dig legit, 2,000 holes. So, I bought this little buddy to help me out. The weed attachment does not do what it should - throw that directly in the garbage.... However the bulb attachment - Amazing. It digs the perfect little hole and a bunch if you move quick. I got through 2,000 bulbs in a couple of hours. I can't guarantee your flowers will actually bloom but the bulb will be snug in a nice little hole all winter.Cheers!

Not the best in Northern Virginia soil
This item works okay in tilled or wet soil and certain kinds of weeds. In NoVA the soil is compacted and mostly clay. This will work if you keep it above ground but the weed claw will not turn if you go down even a little bit into the soil. Not all weeds will come out and in the hard soil a lot of weeds snapped at the root making the whole endeavour worthless. Good for flower beds though where you have mulch so the weeds aren't that firmly rooted. I even tried my old fashioned plug in electric craftsman drill (metal looking thing), which still wouldn't turn the weed claw in the compacted soil and bent the weed claw. For this soil the best ended up being one of those weed pullers that you stand on and the little metal spikes go around the root of the plant and then you pull the whole thing up and push the weed off.

Weed Claw
Pleased. Only have tried the weed claw one time for about 1 hour. Summary -Read the directions.Play with it on your various kinds of weeds as it works better on some than others.Found that slow 1/2 turn works best for some weeds like the directions indicate.Multiple turns at higher speeds finishes some types of weed removal (leaves small hole but that is OK with me).I sent away for extension devices as it is short for my 6 foot height (going to try 6" extension + about 2" for 3/8 chuck with 1/4" hex shaft - cost about $20 extra for both on Ebay or Amazon).Point is sharp so be careful not to stab you leg when walking with it.My small 1/2" cordless drill battery lasted longer than I thought it would - you will probably not be disappointed with your battery life (I don't believe I would be happy dragging around a corded drill). At the very low price, if the tool lasted for 20 hours it would be worth it.Worked good at removing a very shallow rooted type of weed from my Saint Augustine and Bermuda grass in which the weed was entangled with these types of grass runners.I have had a Weasel WeedPopper Pro by Garden Weasel for wellover 20 years and I highly recommend this weeding tool - replaced for free twice in 20 years - takes out larger weeds with deep roots - about $35 at ACE hardware I think and many other hardware stores.

Weed Claw and Bulb Drill
The Weed Claw is what I purchased this set for and it works VERY well. If you pay attention to the instructions and make sure the soil is moist it works extremely well, if you ignore the instructions and use it dry soil it still works but is more difficult to control and uses a lot more battery power. The only thing I personally would like would be if it were longer but I'm 6'4" tall, for most it's probably just about right. The bulb drill on the other hand is not something I would recommend to anyone that has very rocky soil. It works very well in the bed that has all purchased soil (I just had to try it) but in normal SW Missouri soil I was only able to drill about two inches deep before a rock stopped my cold.
