I recommend you use official Kyocera Toner. The printer will run with generic toner but it will complain and you may also void the warranty. Also when you print the status sheet it no longer reports the amount of toner used.

Good afternoon and thank you for your question. You are absolutely correct, the 27ppm only pertains to copy/print. The scanning will do 30ipm simplex and 24 ipm duplex. As for how many pages will fit into the doc feeder, it will hold up to 50 sheets
