No this train is not remote controlled. The controller plugs into the track. I have no idea what you mean by "around a wall".

does it come with smoke?

Yes it does come with a small tube used to make smoke in the engine.

Is this loco the smaller version of the big boy? can this pull half the cars the big boy can pull?

We have pulled 25 cars without wheel slip we would have put more on the track but there wasn't any more room between the front of the loco and the end of the train.
