Moderate Toddler Puzzle, Fun To Do, Good Quality/Durable Pieces and Frame
This is a fun puzzle to do. The pieces are sturdy enough that they don't break (it would be hard to break one if you tried), and the frame they fit in is sturdy as well. It's enough to keep a toddler entertained for quite a while, as long as he/she has a little patience to find the right pieces and put them together.This puzzle is made out of wood, but I am slightly disappointed that the thin film the picture of the puzzle is printed on isn't more water proof. If your little one splashes a drink onto the pieces (or has a younger sibling that likes to put things in his/her mouth), the puzzle pieces almost instantly have little water marks on them. If you quickly wipe the pieces off they still look fine, but It would be great if the film was more water proof. Overall, fun puzzle. I'd recommend it.

Awesome transition puzzle
I got this puzzle for my almost 2 year old. He LOVES puzzles but had moved past the 9 piece board puzzles. I was looking for something that would help him transition from 9 piece board puzzles to the 25 piece free form puzzles.The puzzle pieces are wood and there is a wood tray/border the puzzle fits into. When we first got the puzzle I pulled out sections at a time, increasing the size of the section each time. By the end of a couple of days, he was doing the puzzle without assistance. The animals are lovely and identifiable. The number of different colored animals makes this puzzle easier than the Melissa and Doug 24 piece dinosaur puzzle (which we also have but he struggles with). The pieces have become much easier to pull apart and fit together as the puzzle gets loved.The pieces have stood up to tons of use, stepping on them, throwing them, biting them, peeing on them (twice...oh the joys of potty training boys). I love that I can scatter the pieces and get some time to myself to cook dinner or have an adult conversation. Once he conquers the dinosaur puzzle I think we'll try out free form puzzles.
