No more fishy smell in my evaporative cooler!

This is a must have for any swamp cooler. The fishy pond like smell will stay away if you use this item. I adore them.

I got this for my swamp cooler because it smelled like wet dog. The directions say to either put the whole think in the water reservoir or break it into 4ths and put a 4th into it. I went with the 4th and put it in. The first day the smell was gone and I thought "Problem solved." However, the very next day the smell was back. It also leaves a mess in the reservoir and in the top. In case you're wondering, I did figure out that if you mix fabric softener into the water, it will take the unpleasant smell out completely. On the other hand, now I have to put something under the swamp cooler to catch the water that leaks out the back. Any who, this product didn't really do a thing to solve the problem of the wet dog smell and absolutely wasn't worth the money at all.

It seems to reduce ceud build up from nasty well water. It is with the price in my case. 9 total coolers, change or inspect every 60 days. Bought twice, will buy again. M. R.

They may be used for other devices than a swamp cooler, but that's my main use. Not sure about actually deodorizing, but they do a superb job of eliminating mold and the like from growing in the standing water of a swamp cooler. They're a great price too!
