Arrived carefully packed. Wanted this for a NYT recipe, and it was perfect. If you don't know what preserved lemons taste like, don't order this thinking it's something to spread on toast! It is salty and tart and kicks up a sauce very nicely.

I can't even give this item one star! The preserved lemon paste smelled like paint thinner. I tasted a small amout and it was awaful! Not tart or bitter, just tasted like chemicals. Don't buy this one!

Ordering more! This product is becoming a pantry staple at our house. Add it to salad dressings. Can't wait to mix it with chopped sage and some butter and put the mixture under the skin of a chicken before popping it in the oven. Yum! I've tried other brands and they were just bitter, bitter, and salty. This has the perfect texture, tang, and lemon flavor with just a hit of bitter-ish sharpness. It holds up well mixed with other ingredients. I use it every day with my sardines...of which I'm not a huge fan...but these chopped preserved lemons and a few grinds of black pepper make the sardines a pleasure to eat and actually enjoy.

I know it's easy to make preserved lemons at home, but I don't use them super often so I forget to make them ahead. It's easy to keep a jar of preserves like these in the pantry. These lemons are preserved whole and you chop or slice them as needed. I think I might prefer the sliced or smashed varieties, but with these whole ones you don't lose much lemon when you drain off the brine.

I had a chicken recipe that called for this ingredient. Our grocery stores didn’t carry it. The added preserved lemon I used from this vendor made a huge difference in the lemony taste. I’ll be using this in other dishes.

This is my first-- and last-- purchase of this product. I ordered based on the Amazon ratings, and I was disappointed. The jar held 2 "squished" whole lemons and a less-than-half lemon. I didn't expect perfectly shaped lemons but it looked like someone maybe had to smash these into the jar. This made it really difficult to get the lemons out of the jar using just a spoon or fork, and I don't like putting fingers (albeit clean) into food jars. The lemons themselves lacked flavor or punch, and there was barely any fragrance to them, which I though unusual. The lemons themselves had many seeds- small, hard and brown. I used the lemons in 3 different dishes and I can't say that they added anything to the flavor. I would have been much better off using regular fresh lemons in the dishes. I would not recommend this brand of product.
