Tastes Like a Jalapeño Margarita
When i took a shot it tastes kinda spicy not and okay not quite like tequila. But if you add the Agalima Organic Authentic Margarita Drink Mix and mix with ice it tastes like a flawless margarita!

Find a different NA tequila
Nasty! I researched and researched a NA tequila and this one had good reviews on a lot of pages (ironically only 3.5 on Amazon). I should have paid attention to the lower ranking on Amazon. I like the idea someone had in their review of using it for a NA Bloody Mary. I think that's the only thing I could consider it for. I LOVE TEQUILA - sipping it straight or as mixed drink. I added a super small amount to my 7-up and couldn't drink it. The flavor was so dominant, even rinsing out my glass, it still had a smell of it until I rinsed it again. The smell when you open the bottle is off-putting. I really, really wanted to like this but it's either going to get tossed or used for the bloody mary idea. If you are someone who likes a 100% agave tequila, I don't think you will like this. It's not smooth at all. Really bummed.

You have to try this.
This is fabulous tasting. I’ve been cutting back on alcohol drinks. This is a great substitute for that. A little sweeten lime juice with ice and salt on the rim. Outstanding. I would highly recommend!

Best Tequila Alternative
This is what a Tequila Alternative should taste like! It’s a little spicy, a little herbaceous- a perfect balance. We mixed it with margarita mix and salted the rims and it is delicious. We also made mocktail Palomas and those were fantastic. Sometimes we mix it with ginger beer and a lime squeeze too if we want something simple. We are cutting way back on alcohol - for our health and this product has been a rare find in NA beverages! If you’re expecting it to taste like tequila— it doesn’t — don’t go and do a shot(!!) but mixed in a drink it’s excellent. This is our favorite NA alternative of all the ones we have tried!

Tastes really bad
I wanted to love this, I really did. I was so excited to open it up and give it a go. I wasn't looking for it to taste exactly like tequila, as I don't think that's possible for a non-alcoholic beverage, but I was excited to give it a try and make a tasty drink. Unfortunately it smells and tastes overwhelmingly like pickled jalapeno juice. Now, don't get me wrong, I love jalapenos, even in drinks, but I've never wanted to drink the juice in the jar of pickles jalapenos and that's what this tastes like. It overwhelmed any other flavors we put in it. The only way we could make it tolerable was added a LOT of sweetener, and then it loses any health benefits it has. I'm really disappointed.

This is nothing like the real thing. What a waste of money
What a waste of my money. So disappointing. Taste absolutely nothing like tequila. Not in a margarita not over ice, not neat. It just doesn’t taste anything like tequila at all, not even bad tequila. I’m so disappointed that I wasted my money on this.

Drinkable if you like it, but just doesn't do it for me.
Nose of smoke, apples and banana come through on Free Spirits'Spirit of Tequila. Taste is quite smoky and the pepper burn is quite pronounced (and I love spicy, but this is a bit much for me). In a margarita (using Lyre's Orange sec, doubling the amount of both compared to the standard recipe, which in my experimentation is sometimes about right for using these alternatives) it just doesn't stand out. The pepper burn is there and the smokiness kind of comes through, but I get nothing reminiscent of agave or a true tequila in this. Compared to Ritual this one just doesn't do it for me and doesn't remind me of tequila much at all. There's an aftertaste to it is strongly banana, ore maybe similar to vanilla that's just gone... off. Some of the alternatives don't have that smokiness in them, though, so I have tried mixing it with other alternatives to add that in, but overall it still misses the mark for me and doesn't seem to mix well that way at all, to my taste. I might note here that The Sober Barkeep rates this a 5 of 5 and his review says he loves to drink this neat, so there is a definite difference in taste there.I've since seen other reviews on this and even asked other folks about the strong banana in this and while I have seen a few other people mention this many of the great reviews for this either do not mention it or, when I've asked, state they don't get any kind of banana smell from it at all. It's entirely possible I got a bad batch here, or that it had a longer exposure in storage to, say, sunlight and/or heat which changed the character of the product. As such I can only suggest that my rating may not be consistent with that of others but it does speak to a potential issue of quality control or at least a level of consistency in the product, so that may be something to keep in mind here.

Good alternative for a tequila cocktail
I thought this was a great tequila for a smoky, spicy cocktail. I added it to some pineapple juice, lime juice, and sparkling water. It reminded me a bit of a jalapeño infused tequila, and I personally prefer it to Ritual, which reminds me of a watered down mezcal.
