Cats love it.
Best thing I've bought for my cats. I have had this item for 2 years now and it's great. You do have to look after it though as the pump could break. Once a month I take it apart to clean it and put the pump in a glass of white vinegar over night to clean it (then put it in water and run it to flush the vinegar out) which keeps it running well. I live in a hard water area so put filtered water into it so the limescale build up isn't as bad. I also just empty it and refill it mid month to keep it fresh. It can be noisy at times but keeping it topped up helps and I've found that putting a blob of blue tack where the wire goes into the unit stops the wire vibrating and being noisy. Worth buying.

Maybe it's just my cat.....
A while back I bought another fountain, cheaper and plastic, which was very nice. However cat liked to destroy it as much as drink out of it.I bought this as a result of reading reviews, specifically interested in the stainless steel usage and, just as important, it looked as if it would be difficult to destroy. This picture is what we saw when we came downstairs the morning after receiving it. Interestingly this time the cat seemed interested purely in playing with the water at the top and sticking his paws into the hole at the end of the waterfall. He showed absolutely no interest in actually drinking the water, which I found a little strange as he did like drinking from the other plastic unit.I am off to B&Q this morning to see if I can find a way of hacking this product so that it's not possible for a cat to either (a) drag it across the floor and create a mess; and (b) secure the top section.I am amazed that the manufacturers of ALL these cat fountains, did not consider these things in their design.....List of things that would render a product like this unusable:1. The cat could take it apart, because cats like to.. you know... mess with thingsI dont know whether my hacks will end up working.. possibly another £60 down the drain... but really Pioneer, no stars for a really 'could do better' design. For this much money you really should have covered more the of the fundamental design parameters.

Brilliant
I recently purchased this item after reading several reviews. I have 2 indoor cats, and wanted to entice them to drink more water. Fountain arrived 24 hours ago and with in minutes it had attracted their attention. 1 of my cats in particular is mesmerised by it, she likes to drink where the water bubbles at the top, my male cat likes the still pond water at the side. The design is called "teardrop" , but in actual fact when you look down on it from above it is in the shape of a fish, quite apt I think for a cat fountain. What enticed me most was the comment in 1 review that the filters could be washed and re used. I live in Australia so replacement filters are really expensive to purchase new. The recommended life span of most other fountain filters is around 2-4 weeks . Also particularly important is it is completely stainless steel. Plastic food and water utensils will give your cat an unsightly black/ grey discolouration under their mouth, (looks almost like flea droppings) this is called cat acne. It is extremely difficult to cure once they have it. This is not a particularly well known fact, but trust me, it is very true. I am very happy with this fountain and so are my 4 legged children.

Looks nice - pump quiet - but let down by usual noise problems
The pump is very quiet but when you place the tin lid on top, it acts as a small amplifying caveboosing noise from the very quiet pump - check my small video. This happens all the time with every cat water fountain i have purchased (i have tried alot of them)The pumps are fine but they put resonating plastic or tin boxes around them causing excessive noiseLove my cat need something that works without noise as she is scared of everything

Unhygienic
I’ve been using this fountain with the brand’s filters and I’ve always noticed black floaty bits in my cats’ water. So for months now I’ve just been regularly changing the water and fountains thinking it was the filter doing this. Turns out. There’s been mould growing in the motor?????? Can you imagine my disgust. This product is advertised as hygienic cos it’s stainless steel too but the motor ISNT.Don’t know what to do now cos I really liked this product and so did my cats but :( that’s disgusting. Gonna look into new fountains in the meantime though
