43"x19", framed (painted shabby chic faux technique), acrylic on canvas. Again another landscape format. This painting, with its elongated subject, is a favorite of mine. Again the texture in the background and odd color combination informs the viewer to take note of this unique redhead and question what is she all about? Maybe we all need to let go of our rigid thoughts, get off of our own backs and experience the freedom that this girl has evidently found. Following is her story I wrote (available as a plaque accompanying the art). Thanks, Helene “Cherry was born in a very small town in New England. Her hair was cherry red and her skin was white as snow. As a child, she was often teased and called “cherry berry” because of her long red tresses which caused many uncomfortable situations, filling her mind with self-doubt and anxiety. Years flew by and Cherry grew into a beautiful young lady. However, she had a difficult time accepting life as it was and desperately tried to change it the way she thought it should be. This struggle made her extremely unhappy. One day she shed her clothes and flopped on the couch, and made her mind stop from racing. Right then she realized that her thoughts were causing her disappointment in her life. Dragging her past and fearful of the future, she forgot to be present. At that very moment peace filled her being. What thoughts could become success and happiness and one with life? Then she realized that you don’t live your life, but life lives you. Life is the dancer, you are the dance!”
