Can't say better things about this compression sack.
Amazing compression bag.Fits so much. I put my MSR Bivvy Tent in there, then my TravelPak sleeping bag, then the SOL Breathable Lite and the SOL Breathable larger one. Compressed them all to small enough to fit in the sleeping bag area of my G4Free backpack. Also tried stuffing my Fusion 0 degree holofill/down sleeping bag into it. It filled the whole thing; but still compressed it about 3/4 of the way.For those who are splitting the seams... you do realize that you press down on the top and then pull the loose slack, then press down on the top on another side and pull the loose slack until there is no loose slack. You don't yank on the tab after there is no more loose slack; that's just asking for trouble. The company shouldn't have to pay because YOU are too stupid to know how to properly use their gear. The stitching is extremely heavy duty thread, the cloth is also heavy duty. Also realize that, if you stuff it completely full you will have to disengage the quick release buckle, arrange the other three so they aren't crossed over each other, then swing the side that has the quick release buckle up-and-over and snap it. Then center the black part and draw down the slack equally on all sides. Then you can start pressing down and pulling the slack, pressing down and pulling the slack on each cable until you can't press down any more.I don't know if it is a good rule-of-thumb... but it seems that it will hold about 3.15 pounds of gear. Every time I filled it and it compressed the weight was around 3.15 pounds on my scale. Also, you can gauge whether this bag will work for you by purchasing the set-of-three stuff sacks (not dry bags) from Walmart for $6 (or whatever it was). Then use the largest bag. If you can stuff the backpack into that bag and pull the top around it a bit (not necessarily all-the-way) then this compression bag will probably work for you.

Works exactly as I needed it too.
I bought this to store my sleeping stuff in a handlebar harness for bike packing. I can stuff my sleeping quilt, tent, poles, and sleeping mat in and it fits perfectly. I can only compress it so far with the tent poles inside but I have had no issues with the straps/buckles breaking. There are nicer compression bags out there with better hardware that can take more of a beating than what is on this bag but for the price this bag cant be beat. Plus I firmly believe that if you take care of your gear it will take care of you. Can you really blame something that has been treated like garbage for breaking like it is garbage? The only real downside is this thing is about as waterproof as a kitchen sponge. Luckily I had bought some Scotchgarde waterproof spray for a jacket and had plenty left over to apply to this bag. With the bag now being waterproof it has performed very well on multiple 500+ mile trips. To give you an idea of what will fit here is the list of item's I stuff inside:1. Bigfoot Outdoor Gravity 1P Ultralight Backpacking Tent2. Paria Outdoor Products Thermodown 15 Degree Down Sleeping Quilt3. Klymit Static V Lightweight Sleeping Pad with the Quilted Klymit V Sheet

Gets my bag down really small
I bought this bag to pack a sleeping bag down very small. I use a military green patrol bag as my usual bag due to my height (6' 2") and financials and I was able to get it down to a little smaller than a basketball. I bought a large bag, unsure of the correct size, but I'm positive a medium bag is better for sleeping bags. If you're looking at this bag I believe that a medium would accommodate most single person bags. The large size was still a major improvement over stuffing it into my bag.The sides of the bag are a thick nylon type material The overall design of this bag, while looking complicated, is very genius. There are 4 straps on each side and one of the straps has a buckle so that you can insert you gear and then re buckle it once in the correct position. The straps are smooth to cinch down and each strap makes it smaller and smaller. The handle on top is a nice feature. One thing I would like to see is a feature to keep the straps from dangling. Once completely cinched each strap hung about 10 inches. This does NOT affect the performance of the product!!PROS-quality material-thick straps on the side to cinch it down-design is perfect-packed my sleeping bag to the size of a basketball, could possibly go to a volleyballCONS-straps hung down after being completely cinched downI have been impressed greatly with the utility of this bag. The design is genius and helped packing my camping bag a lot easier.

10 lbs. or stuff in a 5 lb. bag.
Have you ever needed to put 10 lbs. or stuff in a 5 lb. bag? Then this is the compression bag for you. I have a cold weather sleeping bag that i use for...you guessed it, cold weather. It is considerably thicker than my regular sleeping bag and has a hard time fitting in the sleeping bag compartment on my hiking bag. Occasionally I will hike in colder weather and desire the cold weather bag. I put the sleeping bag in this bag and use the straps to cinch it down and compress the sleeping bag to a point where it fits in my hiking bag sleeping bag compartment. It works like a champ and holds strong. The straps hold fast and my bag stays compressed. It gets as tight as a drum and if it failed, it would probably blow out my cold weather bag like a spring snake in a can. So in short, I use this bag to compress my bag so I can fit it in my bag. (man that's a lot of use of the word bag (21 times)) and it works great. Bag bag bag.

Right in the middle
The material is a bit heavier than a typical backpacking stuff sack, but the stitching is a bit weak. For the money, its fine. If you damage it, it can be fixed by someone with a sewing machine.
