Not positive, but 2-6 most likely. I use 8# braid, which is about 2# mono diameter.

Where is it manufactured?

This reel is made in Malaysia. The higher end reels are made in japan.this a really nice reel and works great! 6lb mono seems to work best for me enjoy!!
