Leaks and cracks.
Installed and o-ring failed, actually broke. Unit leaked, tried using original o-ring and it still leaked. Then I bought an original Pentair o-ring, and it still leaked. Then I silicon sealed it all together and left it overnight. Started it up and then noticed a leak from a crack on the top in the middle of the clear cover. I sanded it and mixed and poured some epoxy to cover the crack.I am done. I will see if the epoxy works but an OEM Pentair replacement part is coming tomorrow at $67.The leaks are really tinny. But the equipment is next to our bedroom and the leak causes bubbles that we can hear all night long until it is fixed.

First Pentair 2" CPVC Check Valve 263042
The rubber part of the flapper on the check valve between our pump and the cartridge filter in our pool system was falling apart; chlorine is very hard on rubber and plastic components. I was not sure which model replacement valve I needed, because the label was missing from the in-place check valve. I counted the number of screws and took a chance that this was the correct one. I didn't not want to pay $65 for a Pentair version, so I opted for this cheaper version.I had a bit of problem installing it - as mentioned in another review, the o-ring does not seat firmly in the cover; if the screws aren't perfectly snug, it will leak. I did not want to chance breaking the plastic by torquing down the screws, so I slowly tightened each screw, alternating between the 6 screws, until no water leaked out. For this I deducted one star.It fits well, and no water leaks from the cartridge filter when the pump shuts off. Maybe my system is different from others that left bad reviews that the flapper let water leak through, but I've had no problems. It has been installed about 6 weeks and is still working well.

Seem good so far
Seem good so far and at a fraction of the cost of OEM.Perfect fit. Seem to seal well against backflow. My system has four Pentair checkvalves. The OEM ones have this problem that the rubber dissolves into this gross white crap. After replacing those every three years (at $60+ each), I decided to try these. So far, so good.

Quality versus value, rust appearing in less than 1 month of usage
Seemed to be a good value but...Pros: Seals seem good, stronger spring than OEM, good fit, seems solidCons: Rust is appearing on metal in less than a month of use. Yes the downstream is next to the output port of the chorinator but less than a month?Fortunately (?) I bought the 2 pack and when the current one breaks I'll update this review with more details.Update: March 12, 2023 Yes, the 1st of the 2 pack is still installed and seems to be fine.

It was super easy a kid could do this
The part was not like the original but covered the space fine and bolt up was easy. Use a traditional old school Phillips head and hand tighten. Make sure the sealing surfaces inside the body of the check valve are smooth and uniform. After installing check the seal by removing the lid from the chlorine canister and opening the small feed valve on the bottom of the canister. Turn the mainline valves to spa mode and see if you have water entering the canister from the check valve not sealing. If you did a good job and there’s no water you have a good seal. Have a good time and thanks for reading this instructional review. I myself was not sure that this part would work but it turns out it has more sealing coverage than the original flap.
