The birds adore these. Sadly, I can no longer put them into a fat ball feeder. I put 5 in yesterday, which usually lasts for quite a while, but thanks to flipping bullying starlings descending they were demolished in just 4 hours and the little birds never got a look in! I'm not wasting money on starlings, so I just throw out 2 loose ones out a day where little birds can reach them, but greedy starlings can't! I know all birds need to eat, but starlings are just thugs....

I bought these because they are excellent value being a box of 50. The texture is quite hard which I was a bit worried about as the birds round here tend to prefer the softer type. They do not fall to bits like some on the market and are durable in all weathers. Cannot comment on the taste but seem to be enjoyed by many birds, in particular the long tailed tits and the blue tits.

These must be good as the birds are demolishing them fast!

Unfortunately I think I've spoiled my garden birds with the Extra Goodness version of these, which get demolished daily. These regular ones get some half hearted pecks, and even the squirrel isn't too bothered. I haven't topped them up for a fortnight. I've started crumbling some up on a ground feeder and the magpies and wood pigeons clear them up eventually.They're good value, arrived intact and the packaging can be recycled, so bonus marks for those, but otherwise I can't recommend them.

The fat balls have a reasonable amount of seed etc in them, unlike some which are a hard lump of empty nothingness.Main thing is the birds are enjoying them, so that's good enough of a quality review!

Food balls are very popular. they do tend to crumble easily though and fall to the ground.
