No, it does not come with a spare rope but inside the case was a card stating, "Claim your free red rope (only limited amount available)". I did send an email to the provided address and within days the spare red rope arrived. I can confirm the thickness is the same, perhaps looks different due to its colour. The customer service is outstanding. I hope this helps.

Yes - the rope will adjust to any size no matter how small. The handles are bottomless so the excess wire may hang out - in this case I would advise that you trim the rope with a pair of wire cutters.
