Seems solid, but haven’t had need to use just yet. No complaints over what was delivered though.

I chose this planer because it was the most beautiful one on Amazon and at a decent price. However the screw used to adjust and tighten the position of the blade is made of butter. You’re required to tighten it or else the blade slips back. Unfortunately as you tighten it you wear away at the screw. And even when tightened to the maximum, the blade slowly slips back as you use it. This has done the job for me, shaving down three doors. But it took much longer than it should have as I had to stop every minute to push the blade forward and tighten the screw again. Also it will be useless once the screw inevitably wears out completely. This product could be excellent if they address this issue by using stronger metal for this one screw. A very easy fix. Which is frustrating as I know mine could have been perfect if they had spent a tiny amount more on manufacturing.
